Can someone please confirm I am not seeing things, I have just logged into our email system and the last email received at exactly 11am is from Autotrader - pushing their latest 'webinar' promoting the importance of Price Transparency!! Are they taking the yellow stuff or what??

We're planning CDX16 - our Silverstone Expo that takes place on May 24 next year. We want a headline speaker, and have some ideas, but who would you like to hear from? Whatever industry they're in, I'd just like to hear who you want? Let me know your requests below.

I think you can add a page in the 'manage my website' bit (blue button at top of dealer portal) and call it whatever you like - how about 'testimonials'? Then just cut, paste and publish.

I no longer use the Razor sites but what I used to do was in the header text box type Sorry now sold!!! You can then tick a box that stops the car featuring on your autotrader advertising package but still shows on your website for as long as you like. I usually did that until the customer had collected the car and to make us look like had sold a nice few cars.

You know when you get a part ex and you look at it, look at the customer and their angelic little 2 year look back at the car and think you drove that here? From 150 miles away? On a motorway. 1 week later they complain the air con needs re gassing on their new roadworthy purchase.....

Haha every time I get a BCA car delivered I have a moan about this..... Why do they seal the paperwork in an envelope and then staple it all together through the envelope....and what's wrong with a couple of dobs of Pritt Stick in each corner rather than covering half the windscreen in it!! I though I was on my own with this little thing that bugs the hell out of me :-)

simple maths, 16986 vehicles currently available, on average 5 staples per car 84930 per week, think I'm in the wrong trade bet there's more profit in selling staples to BCA than selling cars bought from them.

It is difficult because as dealers we try and be as helpful as possible and sometimes bend to a customers wishes but there has to be a point where enough is enough. I was chatting to somebody else about my BMW guy and this tread and he told me if a customer asks to plug in a scanner, take caps off under the bonnet or generally do anything out of the ordinary he asks them what qualifications they have. If they turn round and say they're a mechanic, in the trade etc he explains to them if he lets them inspect the car he will then have to sell it as a business to business trade sale and all warranties become null and void. He's never had a customer come back that agreed to this but I wonder how it would stand up if it every got to court?
