Well I've been told today, legally if we buy a car online and we go to fetch it and find the gearbox etc is knackered, you can reject it as long as it does not leave the site. As soon as it's off their site, it's your problem. I got told this by a former BCA employee. Anyone found this to be the case?

Nothing to whine about this week. In fact, everyone else seems to be kicking off about everything so I don't really need to! I do think the 'Name and shame' concept might have some legs though. There's some potential mileage in publicising the rip-off merchants that give the rest of us a bad name. I know they won't like it but, if they've overstepped the line then I personally don't give a monkey's willy. The public should be treated with respect. Well... Most of them...

Interesting thread. I am on RAC cars and have so far had 1 phone call since sending my advertising there via my feed. I feed out to all advertising platforms from my Click Dealer website. Motors brings in a few leads for me but probably accounts for around 3-5 sales per month ( total sales average for past 3 Months 40+ cars per month) A touch off topic but AutoTrader really wind me up with continuously telling me how many people are now viewing on tablets, smart phones etc yet when you look at your response tracker you simply cannot break it down to show where your views are coming from. My A/T rep is absolutely useless and is one of the most unprofessional individuals I have had the misfortune of coming across. Arrange visit and does not show up. No calls, emails or anything. 2 Years ago I took out the most basic package of 8 cars. I am now holding up to 30 cars. Within 12 Months I will be at 50 cars. Same story no sense of being a valued customer just treated with the usual contempt.

Over a year without AT now and we are definitely selling as many cars as we were but saving a hefty bill every month! Most of our cars are priced between £2,500 & £7,000. We did try motors.co.uk for a few months shortly after cancelling AT but although their service & attitude was far superior, the sales never came through them. We still do 20+ with eBay motors pro and the local papers which works fine for us !

yep totally free trail and for the money it offers pretty good value for money. Only downside is you get the odd eBay loony who will bid you £2500 for a £5000 car but these are easily dealt with.
