jimreidvehicle 255 Posted September 17, 2015 That's us mid way through what should be one of the busiest months of the year for the motortrade but how are you feeling about things?BUSY or QUIET?
Rory RSC 596 Posted September 17, 2015 23 cars sold so far this month. On the whole, I actually expected to be a bit busier and I would say I expected the auction's to be packed with stock. I was at an SMA auction last night and the same auction on the same day last year you could not move for cars. Yesterday was a heck of a lot quieter. Still getting leads coming through and people coming out so nothing out of the ordinary.

Steve92 80 Posted September 18, 2015 In terms of other sectors, my last role was as a buyer for a charity with a mail order catalogue, our customers were a mixture of private, b2b and local authority.our financial year was April to march, april quiet and Easter always had an impactmay picked upjune similar to mayjuly not bad but tailed off towards the end because of the holidaysaugust quietseptember picked upoctober busy as we always launched a new cataloguenovember busy from the overspill from octoberdecember seemed busy but in reality you were squeezing 4 weeks into 3 and yes people did want next day delivery when ordering on the 24th and were most dissapointed when you told them it was going to be in the new year !january busy but also because of Christmas returnsfeb busyMarch busy as it was year end spend for local authorities, although 5 years ago it was stupid, our sales targets literally doubled for januaryFebruary/march. as of yet I've not looked into how car retail matches mail order retail.
