Gary Daniel 0 Posted June 20, 2019 HI, im after some opinions , maybe some one of you had a similar experience, sorry for a long text hope you enjoy reading:) So we have sold an automatic Vauxhall Astra 60 plate, had full service history with 60k miles as well as major service done by ourselves which includes timing belt change, gearbox oil, engine oil, filters ect. Mint condition, no doubt. So customer rang us a month after purchase saying she got some problems with the car, we did send her address of the garage where we serviced the car and said if anything wrong we will fix it if she gets the car there. The customer then disappeared for a month...And after we got a text apologising that she was in the hospital and could not get the car to the garage, but been in local garage and they told she will need fixing transmission and driveshaft which will cost her £1300, so she requested a refund and said she will give us a car back once she got money, we refused and said as one moth gone already we are happy to fix the car, but she said she does not want the car as she got kids to drive around everyday and she cannot wait until it is fixed, so we agreed to give her a replacement car (which we normally don"t) and said that if she still got a problems, she should not carry on driving. After a long discussion we got her a recovery at our own cost (we gave her AA breakdown cover at the time of the sale where she never called) and guess what! someone unscrewed oil filter where engine oil started to leak. No problems at all, gearbox and driveshaft perfect, got report of diagnostics! Then we requested a quote given to her by her own garage which she could not provide! ok never mind we thought we deliver the car and forget, but after 10 days of driving she calling screaming saying she in the middle of the car park cannot switch the gears, should we get recovery and give her refund, so i went there myself with mechanic who serviced the car (he is automatic gearbox specialist), car been there with dead battery and gearstick cover taken off, we switched the batteries and all been in shock as the car drives perfectly, then she started to scream on us, saying she wants money back as she does not like the car ect, started to rev engine as crazy and drove away! she has no evidence of any diagnostics, recoveries ect... and i feel like its not the end of the story as her warranty expires in a week and for some reason she wants a full refund when there is nothing wrong...i am thinking to get a lawyers advice, what is your thoughts? Nick M.K. 574 Posted June 20, 2019 A customer returned a car because the ride was too harsh. A Mini I bought for him after advising him that a Mini is NOT a sensible choice for a family of four that currently enjoys a Merc CLS. He insisted. Twice.

It's about being part of a community, you haven't even introduced yourself and your business, but you want us to spend our time and help you. If you cannot communicate politely and respectfully you can simply jog on. Edited June 20, 2019 by Arfur Dealy

Is this in any way normal behaviour for a punter at high price brackets? It's the potential for this kind of shit that makes me stay away. I'd listen for a while but be unable to stop from dosing them so hard with a big load of reality if they insisted on me returning their money or having misled them. They will deny that of course,it’s never their fault. They will probably be part of the plastic card, digital, got nowt generation that think it is normal to buy things use them and take them back.Have you ever been in the M@S returns dept. and seen what people bring back, shoes badly scuffed and worn down which they have never had on etc. Also the ones returning frocks because they found make up on the collar when I fact they have just wanted them for a night out and bring them back. I had something very similar recently on a BMW. Customer tried to claim it had some problems before finally admitting he didn’t like the car. We happily took it back, at trade money. Nick M.K. 574 Posted June 21, 2019 No no. He is one of my best customers. 3-4 cars a year. Serial buyer. He got it for a few days free trial and instead of the usual bank transfer I got the call that “this one isn’t for me”. He then got the I told you speech :-)))

The next ad will say, this vehicle has been on a thorough 3 day PDI and trial to ensure it is perfect for the new owner, which is why we have just increased the price by £500.
