Anyone up to speed on a 2005 BMW 6 series

Recommended Posts

just took one in as a part ex and its put the DSC light, nothing else, it then goes off when restarting the car, so basically it appears to be intermittent, it wasn't on when it was traded in, anyone got any experience of these?

thanks in advance

Andy

If it's the same as a 1 series they suffer from corroded ABS rings on the driveshaft which can cause the light to come on. This also causes the traction to kick in randomly when driving.

Just deciding what to do with it as it’s cat d, what’s it to sell 630i 2005 on a 55 plate with 68k on, good general order

Not to sure about it going off but from memory some BMW kick the ABS and ESP warning on if the steering sensor is out following hitting a pot hole, or in a Cat D something bigger.

Try code read?

This wouuld be a fantastic idea... it would give a general indication of which direction to go in and eliminate the necessity to replace parts unnecessarily ;)

 Too true. A greedy cheap man’s car & there’ll be plenty of interest (genuine and dreamers) at really cheap money. A Bit Of Flash For Not Much Cash.

Best place , let some private buy it :)

I had a car like that once , put it to the block and went and hugged it when it was about to go thru :) bid on my own car against a private and took it over CAP Clean by £300 and it was knackered . Lots of fun as I reckon I earned £700 extra .

F***ing no chance. Too fancy for me, flash car with warning lights on the dashboard, I’d have sleepless nights. My mechanic can take a week to change a drop link, I’ve 5 (f***ing 5!!!) in a queue waiting for his attention & from what I hear the local BMW ‘specialists’ are overpriced c***ts.

I’ve got that feeling, especially with my boys being 4 & 5.

Down here in the 'big smoke' Christmas is just another religious festival. I'm hoping I can get a kebab on Christmas day, or maybe a curry!:D
