andymc1973 199 Posted April 12, 2018 bought this last week and it seemed to be a lovely little car, on the drive home it put the spanner light on and seemed to have a miss/hesitation, called surecheck and as usual its not covered, we scanned the code and got back P0171 System Too Lean ' BANK 1, anyway cleared the code and it hasn't come back but the miss is still there Anyone come across this before we start throwing parts at it? It's me 615 Posted April 12, 2018 well i don't deal in corsas but i know when i did you couldn't disconnect the maf to get it to work on the ecu fall back figures you had to nick one off another corsa and see if that was the fault, also the ones i bought of ebay were crap they lways needed a £90 dealer one (factors bosch) maf usually wont show a fault code either so you need to look at live data
WTAC 1 Posted April 12, 2018 Is your scanner able to give live data? Have a look at the lamba readings

Stalker 180 Posted April 13, 2018 Lean codes are usually an air leak? EGR? Map sensor? - Air leaks are rare as they don't have a lot of pipework, id go with MAP sensor - live data is going to be your friend.
peter..o 8 Posted April 13, 2018 Worth doing a compression check, seen that code coupled with a slight miss/hesitation was burned valve, had it on polo and corsa and fiat 500(tho the 500 was actually tight tappets, was shim type tappets and someone had been there before and cocked up)keep us informed!!!
