Jaguar Xf 2.7d Restricted Performance

Recommended Posts

I've had this car in stock for a while, came to start it today after taking a deposit on it and it's got an intermittent message on the display saying "restricted performance" however this doesn't seem to affect the running of it and it pulls just as it should. Before I go code reading and live data it etc I was hoping that someone knowledgeable on here would be able to offer any advice if they've experienced this.

Thanks EK, no dpf light on though, think it'll regen itself if I give it a long enough run or would it be better to do a forced regen on it.

Get the codes read, it's not difficult

Could be the MAF, could be anything

Fufu valve or the thingamajig. F*** me, it’s bad enough diagnosing faults with the car & code reader in front of you.

XF's are notoriously common for DPF issues and EGR faults.  Amount we've spent on replacing these is obscene.

DPF's can be regen'd quite easily on these but pre 2010 and high miles (80k +) I wish you luck as it's more than likely a replacement.

I would advise not to plug it into a diagnostic machine and replace everything. ;)

All sorted, air intake pipe was loose, totally different to the code that was being thrown up.
