Mitsubishi Shogun Pinin Estate 1.8 Mpi Elegance 3Dr - How desirable??
Ocsltd replied to Ocsltd's topic in General Dealer Chat
So apart from tappety engines, and rusting themselves away, they're pretty good news...?! -
You valet them yourself?! When do you find time to buy cars, if you're selling that many?? Working solo myself, I know what a challenge it is trying to do everything!!

I sold one on Saturday and one yesterday. Had 11 in stock.... That's the lowest I've been on stock for a while!

Mitsubishi Shogun Pinin Estate 1.8 Mpi Elegance 3Dr - How desirable??

Yeah I did some homework and read that they're partial to a bit of rust.... The MOT history is clean, with no reference to rust, so hopefully that's a good sign. -
Mitsubishi Shogun Pinin Estate 1.8 Mpi Elegance 3Dr - How desirable??

Thanks for the replies chaps!! -
I've got a customer who wants to part ex a Mitsubishi Shogun Pinin Estate 1.8 Elegance, with leather. It's low mileage with good history, but how desirable are these little things? Good sellers? Any issues to be aware of? Being a fairly small, petrol 4x4 I would imagine the market is quite limited? What are your experience's?

Don't you just love it when people blatantly waste your time!! Just had a couple looking at my Tigra, because it was the closest to them. Had no intention of buying it, but was happy to sit in it, put their muddy feet in it and allow me to demonstrate the roof to them etc..... Customer: Hmmm, quite interested in one of these... Me: Oh, so not this one then Customer: No it's over my budget (Me thinking so why are you here then! This is when it becomes clear!) Me: Ok, what's your budget? Customer: About £3500 Me: Ok so if i could do it for £3500 as a one off deal, would you be interested? Customer: No, it's the wrong colour, if It was that colour yes, and points to a yellow Lotus Elise.... To which point I suggested he was wasting my time, he agreed and admitted that he only came to look at mine as I was the closest. Really bugs the shit out of me.... Thanks mate, I'll do a full demonstration so you can now go and buy one privately!!! C*NT!!!

Perfect, thank you very much!!

Now, forgive me for the school boy esq question here, as I should know!! But, what is the process if a customer wants to put a cherished number plate that he has on retention, onto the new car he is buying, but wants me to sort it all out for him?? I know I should know, but I don't normally get involved. I usually advise them to wait until the V5 is in their name, and then do it online. Usually, at point of pick up, I tax the vehicle online with the customer using the new keeper slip, then register the car in their name at the same time online. How would this process work if I was putting a cherished reg number on, what do I need? (Will go and hang my head in shame!)

Does anyone use QuickBooks? Any good?

Sold to someone different?

Yeah I agree, it is a lot. What does your accountant do for you? (if that's not too personal a question). I'm just trying to see how much you guys do yourself and how much your accountants do....
-
Is that for book keeping and year end accounts / tax?
-
Just wondered what you guys were paying on average, or thought was a reasonable cost... As with everything going up, my accountant has just increased his fees. I trust him and have been with him since I started, so he knows the business well, but as with everything, I wonder if I could get a better deal. He does my book keeping, handles my vat return each quarter, deals with my year end accounts, deals with my personal tax return, and does quarterly management accounts. I'm the sole director of my (small) limited company. He's currently asking £390 inc. vat per month. Does that sound reasonable given the amount of work they are doing. Problem I have is, during quieter periods I think I could do more myself, but during busy times when I'm running around like a headless chicken, I think it's money well spent! Interested on what you guys think / do / pay?
-
Out of interest, what did you sell today?
-
Just done my first deal of the month!
-
Like you say, they're very common, but personally I stay away from them. Just not worth the grief IMHO. This job is hard enough with the general public being overly suspicious, why give them more ammunition?? Think your last sentence tells you what you need to know.....
-
How are you all finding the start of October generally? Busy / Slow? Lot's of enquiries etc?
-
Nice when things like that happen... Did he let you tickle his belly while he rolled over?
-
Thanks James, will do...
-
I'd take that!
-
So, how has everyone's month started off.....? I'm on a big fat 0.
-
Hi James, yes please! Going to make an appointment with Halifax, but no harm in having a chat! Cheers

Trouble is, I spend most my evenings searching the auctions for stock, as sometimes it's the only time I get if I'm busy during the day. Quite frustrating when it seems to be down so much. Even my brother, who isn't in the trade, but likes to look for cars, commented on how it always seems to be down. I don't find the website very user friendly. If you type Renaulsport into the search, it doesn't like it. Where as BCA will bring up all the Renaultsports without having to trawl through loads of Clio 1.2 Dynamique's....
