I noticed the word WOW pop up on almost every add as well good old fashioned text talk or some crazy advertising ploy to make the add stand out who knows.

Ironically marketplace is a disaster for us where as boosted ads works very well.

Good luck...

I like a balance between the two so there is always something to do, keeps the spirits up, helps pays the overheads to have staff around to keep bills down if that makes sense.

gone of buying them, they shake themselves to bits bushes bearings more rattles than nursery

Also dont forget whilst opening an account with the auction houses thats easy you will then have to buy some cars at silly buyers rate before they move you up, granted these days they do move you a lot quicker than they used to mainly to ensure they keep your business but the first 5-10 cars will be painfully expensive, and thats at each auction house.
Also factor in delivery / collection costs default storage costs if your unable to collect within 3 days bca are brutal with this to newbies.
Like most things in the motor trade it changes week on week our nearest bca / manhiem is bristol / birmingham but we spend more money at blackbush as they have more of the stock we sell so we have to pay delivery, so dont think just because there is an auction house an hour away its where your going to buy it doesnt work out like that.
some cracking advise from above print it off read it inside out over and over again.

Depends on the car i think, people wont travel 100's of miles for a toyota aygo as there are always plenty to pick on there door step.

That is a very good way to look at your figures and a good result a few percent here or there makes a huge difference.
We do a similar thing month on month so the last day of each month we run a basic balance sheet, cash in hand stock cars value, aged debtors creditors that kind of thing when you add all those into a excel graph it makes for a good insight as where you are.

Does with us as we are surrounded by beaches within walking distance.

Last time i applied for a log book it came back in a little over two weeks, by the time you get someone to go around and hopefully have it you could have applied and got the log book back.
Tad odd why you would go the other route.

I have never had an issue with a draft and taken plenty of them over the years.

1 hour ago, Hargy said:Sorry. Where did I say I don’t pay taxes. I pay tax on my job and pay tax on the cars I sell. I keep records for everything I do I’m not ducking anything.
I don’t have overheads like premises, staff, advertising but I do pay my dues
I don’t buy at auction. The £1000 was the total amount paid from a dealer as a trade in he took. I didn’t have to put a spanner on it. It was sold with 6 months MOT. I’m not VAT registered so what I pay to HMRC is £160. This is a part time role I do so I’m happy
wowsers keep your knickers on, i never said or implied you didnt pay taxes, and i note from your below post your not vat registered so i stand by my comment lucky you.
These kind of posts are what keeps me in the locked forums these days.

Have a few at near retail price (Kuga, C Max, C Class Merc and cant shift them. I’ve dropped price 3 times and it then looks desperate.
Lucky you being able to make a profit and keeping a profit, not having to share it with the revenue like the rest of us poor sods.

Repo from a dealer who defaulted would be my guess.
Same as manhiem they sometimes list nextgear vehicles.

As above stats mean almost zero, one thing you mentioned that i did pick up on.
" This is just going to be a side business for me. Mainly because I enjoy working on cars and cleaning them up etc. "
Once you start dealing with customers and suppliers trying to shaft you from all angles that will soon fade very quickly.
Also maybe look up some posts from Mrv and Lucas and see the trouble they had starting out, good examples of just how hard this game really is.
