The used car game as well as finance is and has been going sour for years and now we are at the point where rules/regulations/costs/margins etc are seriously putting dealers under so much pressure that a lot I know have decided to just trade/sor/auction and have an easier life without the aforementioned stress of running a used car company.

I like that metcars!

SIMONB......My thoughts are after 29 years doing this that times have changed so much that the part time dealer/home trader etc are 100% making more than us. Nothing wrong with that at all ....its us with pitches/overheads that has it all wrong I'm sure of it!

Yes....no mention at all. They have even backed down asking for a "contribution" which as a gesture of goodwill I offered 50% of the cost of the head gasket "parts and labour" only,no other parts or associated labour costs. And to be honest I think I'm going above and beyond and being extremely fair!
