    Theres too much medium out there to help us small independants survive and too many at it and too many people willing to still buy off kerbside buyers to save a bob,we are getting it from every angle and lets be honest here unless you have a large chrome place then customers seem to think we have no overheads,best is customer asks where do you get your stock because they've been looking for this model at the auctions for ages and there's non or it was dearer at hammer price for them but they still want all the add ons and want it cheper,roll on the day i can shut up shop and live on me £75 a week penshone:D

    with regards the screen you could try g5 and a good mopping or just wet the screen prior to customer turning up  or only advertise in light drizzle days:D

    Lined a real nice car up for a local gent, known him 20 years,hes retired now and his daily driver finally conked last weekend,put a new mot on it tuesday after the break full service and made sure seeing as it would be coming to me for all work ever neeing it got the usual extra protection underneath to keep it in tip top condition,another local whos purchased from me called in saturday last week and also showed interest in it but i could only offer them second dabs if mr 1 cocked,guess what? he cocked on wednesday and turned up in a cmax with a hand grenade engine

     

    oh well lesson still not learned though,im too nice :unsure:

    if you check on the vosa website the mot is updated instantly

    vosa dont direct link to dvla,not yet anyway

    as for road tax its sometimes takes a week and a car registered in my name still isnt showing as sorn even though i got a confirmation code a week and a half ago

    as you know this job is mainly down to crossing t's these days, rather than putting on the old sheepy and giving it large to the mugs er customers :lol:

    are you happy to pay the same price as jo bloggs who doesnt present his cars for mot in checked condition ? i make sure my cars are checked prior to submission so expect passes and thus no retests and volume in business

    Well let's keep to her stereo type way of thinking .......

    What's the silly cow doing out of the kitchen in the first place, has she done the hoovering and the laundry before she ventured out, hopefully it was just a case of nipping to the shops because her old man had demanded steak for tea and she needed some mushrooms to accompany it and she just happened to pass a car showroom on the bus and had a dreamy thought of one day being able to drive a car .

    Spot on,once she got home her husband should have put her over his knee spanked her and told her never to go and talk to the disciples of the devil again and anyway whats wrong with her 52 plate clio  apart from the lights always flash on the dash :lol:

    to be fair to warranty company bearings dont go in a week and maybe when cambelt changed just prior to sale ,fitter overtightened serpentine to ac pump?  why not self warrant and chuck all the money in a pot for such eventualities if your cars go out right as this is what i do with strict rules no third parties can tinker without my say so

    No,i learn't 20 years ago to never do this as you are at the mercy of the customer and they dont get better they get worse,with me though it was and is always they say if you bring it i will buy it,no they don't they just cant be bothered coming to see you but still want it at their price if you go to the trouble of accommodating them, might work on a 3 year sweety,anything else and you is a mug if you go there in my opinion

    Going the 2 miles to work today the traffic lights in the village were red as i approached,ive considered writing a letter to the  parish council but last time i did they never replied and seeing as stamps now cost 12/6 im not going to bother, Signed

    all i hear are tales of woe from customers who are finally realising that modern diesels arent like they were and are basically money pits once out of dealer warranties,i dont look at diesels for retail because i self warrant so dont want the hassles
