Its always the 1 owner cars that are screwed. buy a car with a few more owners and its fine. Been there got the T shirt!
the ones that had the private plate i find, always out of their tree once youve bought and driven them, owners can peel an orange in their pocket cars
-
That looks like Bruntingthorpe to me where Manheim have a site, but I could be wrong
manheim dont cover the plates to protect the guilty though
i checked out all coparts places via googly maps without googie withers and its not them, its deffo a salvage place but it could literally be anywhere

the best thing to do is sit down and write down all different ways to move the dog with associated costs

back to block
ebay
be realistic and once decided keep the ship on course

ok so its mid august and even the local rats have packed their meesers and gone off on a plaque hunt but one customer to kick the tyres all day and 10 coffees later i wents home

interesting as tineye says no, so where did the photo come from then?

just put trade plates on every test drive and never ever do unaccompanied drives unless you have cast iron insurance to cover it,you need to confirm driver also has a clean licence prior to them wanting to drive your car at 40 in a 30 like they all want to

used to buy a car from auction run it get bored of it and retail it,the smell of dirty lucra profit was too hard to resist,of course back then dealers who worked from home were nearly unheard of and getting trade plates was a great struggle as dvla were insisting i needed premises,i won and still have the original plates but had to repaint them last year in lovely ford radiant red as they were becoming unreadable, nothing wrong with home traders by the way if they do the job right as we all have to start somewhere, its the traders who put two fingers up and seem to get away with it that gnaws at me

Actually another we loop hole in the system (not that we take advantage of loop holes) , you can road tax the vehicle for 6 months then as long as the car is sold within 2 months you can still put the new owner details on the V5 and cover the cost of the 4 months road tax you can't reclaim in the cost of the transaction, however I think Wheeldealer1's idea is the best !!!

having been on the wrong end of a car tax fiasco at xmas where dvla were sending refund cheques out like confetti and the new owners car then showed as untaxed its not a policy i would follow but then i like to sleep soundly in my bed
-
best thing is when they come back after thinking about it and you can tell them it sold just after they left, its such a nice feeling and in days gone by i would sometimes do it just for the gleefullnes of it even though it wasnt sold,oh the good ole days eh where there were more bums than seats

Always sorry to see someone go who does the job right ,round my way ive weathered more storms than Francis Chichester but they still keep coming and going and even offering customers the world then disappear to end up trading from home with clapped out ford ka's etc, glad to hear your going into the new business of discount tax disc holders anyway pecker up and all the best mate

when you get old like some of us who hated local newspapers and their working practises, autotrader came like a breath of fresh air, so, after something like 28 years its really hard to walk away, but im learning that places like ebay might be the new way forward and im surprised im saying this because im a proper stick in the mudder,,but autotrader really is losing its way because its not a monopoly anymore just like yellow pages was

im a 99 man but got to say the 50 is a good idea because i get sick of reading like odd figures in autotrader so they bump their cars up a page to appeal to the lazy customers who want to pay x and travel within a taxi ride

dvla computer cant digest so many changes in such a short time so rejects,i would either be looking for recompense from a higher source by finding who to write to at dvla towers by asking or write it off and take the medicine
my insurer who is lv wont let me tax a car unless its registered in my name so slamming cars on the MID is not an option anymore for me and lets be honest here its going to be a right paper trail if you get a bumpsy whilst driving it or worse selling it within a short time and your paperwork isnt triplicated
just tax a barge you will never sell if you arent bothered what you drive its really much easier in the long term and allows you to make it a pigsty too if you want

why not try the gangsta approach?
gives us your car or your wasted
seems to work for that miserly £10 a day if we cock your repair up
-
well done for shifting it,use the money wisely glasshopper
i always try to work out the bottom bottom price if i need to shift something thats become my landmark but always add in customer warranty work if self warranting like me because when times are quiet its always the time we get big comebacks that eat that small profit
my motto is if i have to bend to do the deal and it might go pear to a major moaner i would rather not do the deal
theres always a bum for every seat remember,we just have to find the bums

most kids love balloons so you could consider your logo added or just give em all a lollipop to shut em up
-
everyone but us fool traders are on holiday, you just need to sit back and ride out august,it never was a good selling month,
-
electronically Tell DVLA you've sold or bought a vehicle
https://www.gov.uk/sold-bought-vehicle
now working ,customer did this for his p/x sold he left on Saturday, didn't even know it was running yet
apologies if its already been covered

speaking to a trader at my place today and i commented on the fact he had properly transfixed his trade plates totally covering the cars number plates and mentioned apart from me no one else seems to do it round here, got fined he said for displaying cars plates and trade plates were in window, there you go,your local plod might turn a blind eye as every area is different,
me i drill the front plates and affix the trade plate with 2 self tappers and for the rear i gaffer up the cars plate and usually hang the trade plate off the wiper with my old fashioned alloy plate still in its rubber holder,so all my cars have extra drilled front number plate holes
-
my record is 13 months before i officially call it a landmark, normally 6 weeks and i get panicky and start totting up the failed advertising bills and looking why its still here and come again to the conclusion oddballs really should be left for others and just buy the top 10 second hand wanteds in best colours but who cant resist that ford in death blue at the end of the auction
-
enjoy your stay in operation stack mate

bit confused here, the stand on using trade plates is that they should be the only plates visible on the car whilst being driven, the days of putting them in the window have gone and now many police forces are fining for doing this,i dont know where you stand re going through the tunnel but your plates will be on the mid as recognised and this would be the only plate i would be registering prior to using the tunnel
mot crashings

read in the gospel maily dail today that the dvsa mot logging site is crashing, well who would have believed that an internal it system to save the govt money wouldn't crash ,my mot station had to stop testing last week due to failure of the system now dvsa are telling mot garages to write an mot pass on izal bog paper and give it to the customers until the system is working again and mot station can log the mot pass in
reminds me of Guinness labels in the windows to fool the bobbies we were fully legal as we drove through unknown counties on the great north road back to civilisation
