  1. I use Worldpay for my card machine simply because the company recommended by Santander wanted a business plan just to stick a card machine in (ridiculous!!).

Santander don't take business money over the counter, by the way but you can bank your money at the Post Office instead.

Im with santander, just be aware the most in cash you can bank at your post office is now only a £1000 at a time and any cheques taken still need to be posted to liverpool,i refused a cheque today and asked them to bring in cash tomorrow for this very reason, its still better than going into the nearest town to pay in cash though

  2. is £120,000 enough to start up from scratch and fill a large pitch and service everything?or would 10 cars and an easyish in out without needing to go limited be a better solution, only you can decide but £120,000 wont go that far if you start with a bit of land with planning and not even a caravan and even that brings all the agencies in including the local plod who might insist you have a full cctv so as they dont need to attend but can come and view your discs at their leisure as they do

    just my thoughts

  3. this year a lot worse than the previous 2

    customers more picky than ever

depended on a loyal customer base but cant afford to do that in 2016 so need to reapraise where im going to go

AT been a complete waste of time with ebay doing me more good but is hard work because of all the nutters who contact you expecting discounts unseen

what one thing did i learn? to be harder than ive ever been hard before but to still be fair

  4. i think ive been on another of your threads elesewhere but i often go up to your area to nick stock ,somes really good some from say seaham is bad due to corrosion issues the point is you need to assess what you can sell in your town,do not sell what you like ,every time i do this i get bogged down, sell what sells locally even if its crappy micras ok micras arent crappy but the dashboards bring on sleep induced coma

  5. do not sell on auction, trust me ive tried this this past few weeks and all ive got is proper grief.

i would suggest sell to trade only and proof of motor trade insurance policy needed and invoice shows this or dont do it,its really not worth the hassle

  6. posting the key would get you a clone and its not recommended with this car

have you spoken to your ford dealer or see who the local trade use to come to them and have a proper key made with a proper warranty and a quality key

cheap keys always cause problems,,last one cost me a big headache and i lost about £145

keys off the internet ready to be cut and cloned are usually made of rubbish metal that splits when being cut, this could split today tomorrow or next month as you are miles from home and ignition jams

  7. some thoughts

trade insurance can be a bit hard in this sector

these type of cars always bring the people who are perfectionists because a lot of them are into detailing

you say you can mechanic? then theres your market, specialise in repairing others faults if you can and you have a niche market

anyone can buy cars and hope to sell them, you have a skill so keep to it and maybe sell what you run as an add on or specialise in something you can sell and repair if it does break

    me?

i prefer to keep it simple so anycomebacks are nearly always cost repairable without breaking your banking terms

    best of luck,

one final thought its always best to offer what peiople want rather than what you want so if you lived say in a village of oaps then i would specialise in say i10's

  8. i would keep to your original thought but just get the engine serviced straight away, dont scrimp on a paper hanky oil filter and don't scream the rocks out of the engine, see it as your livelihood and treat it like you would hopefully treat a gorgeous woman, that engine will easily rack up over 120,000 miles with no attention to turbos/ chains or wiggly/ waggly things if you take heed

    old vw:blink: fuffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff:lol:;)

  9. hi,if you consider the fuel goes to the engine returns goes through the tank then the lines  lines then pump then returns again then 15 miles showing as left in tank really is nothing

i think your engine went into limp to save the lifters in the pump by default so they dont run dry and seize, remember also running on fumes would pick up any water thats got in the tank over the years

put some diesel in see if it needs bleeding at the filter as suggested and cross your fingers

the days of running stuff like this on fumes is gone if you dont want a coronary

    chin up

  10. so for the sake of clarity

    the car is "in trade"?

you are taxing in the name of the former owner?

    or?

you are taxing on the new keeper slip?

im assuming trade insurer happy about this

im assuming you arent worried if it got clamped and hauled to a dvla pound because your cover note wont cover it

im assuming this is what roadside traders are doing who arent paying anything like im paying in fixed bills and basically screwing the system

i would prefer the mods to remove all this if its correct because i would rather it wasnt on an open forum if its this easy
