  11. genuine knock sensor fixed, shit performance from the so called auto electricians VSS
  12. the car was with top auto spark chap in the area, the knock sensor will have been a euro parts special, what happens when the knock sensor isn't working?
  13. that was my first thought but surely the auto electrician would have checked all was well in the signal (it was) ps what a week, I hate cars
  14. They’ve checked all that out apparently, ecu taking to the knock sensor and vice versa, the first mechanic did say when they changed the clutch they smashed the sensor
  15. The car is a 2009 and after a clutch change started putting the eml on (knock sensor), we fitted another knock sensor and it still put the eml on (knock sensor), I was advised to take it to an auto electrician (VSS Sunderland, very well regarded) who advised it must be the ECU as the sensor was fine, they sourced one from ebay, opened it up and swopped the data, they also pointed out the clutch change had no bearing on the problem, they checked the live data and everything is working as it should but they have hit a dead end on how to fix, I have even filled it up with super plus in case that was the issue, i am now at a loss, does anyone have any ideas? ta Andy
