  1. +1, bite your tongue and get on with it, we're in retail, customers come in all shapes and sizes, knobs to white flaggers, just deal with it, the days of old are gone with social media and many forms of contact, take it in your stride but one thing I would do if dealing from home is have a separate number for business and turn it off at 1800hrs, let them leave a message and contact them during a normal working day, bollocks to all this late evening business. You're in control or you should perceive to be.
  2. I was involved in a pilot scheme RAC & BCA 18yrs? ago or so grading end of lease motab stuff, some of it was exceptional back then but we had to introduce a menu on the reports for interior after seeing/smelling some of them, I can only assume this has been dropped since? problem with some of the owners and the reason they've got the vehicle in the first place is they're disabled and unable to get out of the car for a shit/piss in time... also on inspecting these was the obvious blatant bullshitters who got them then leased them out to family/local drug dealers/taxis you name it the scum have done it..
  3. I know, I looked hoping you'd not updated your website and picked the nearest thing to sale price
  4. An old mate does purely vans and has done for years, he does alright and generally has 30-40 on the pitch at any one time, he likes it and has very little come backs / screamers, says van punters are more bothered it has 12 months ticket and runs well and not fussed as much about the condition as car punters are, I know he did 2 today as I bumped into his valeter in the Indian whilst waiting for my dinner, I might pop in for a brew and catch up tomorrow if I've time and ask him your question.
  5. Air leak somewhere? I have similar on a completely different car 120i petrol, coils and plugs changed, no codes drives spot on and a BMW mech suggested could be an air leak, it's going in Monday for further investigation
  6. That's surprising and quite impressive, I have little knowledge of the electric stuff.
  7. Haha knew I'd be miles off, I guessed purely off the silver roof bars, how long will it take your punter to get back to the Wirral from Buckinghamshire in an i3! Or did he trailer it back?
  8. What do we win? Was thinking Peugeot 3008 but the aerial has thrown me off that, still think it's French tho probably completely wrong
  9. It actually started a long time before 5 years ago mate, I was the area manager for the RAC, for a pilot scheme with BCA on grading end of lease stuff, mainly Motability stuff back around 2001/2002 if I recall, back then it was all RAC inspectors not mechanics but bodyshop experienced guys who could spot shit paint, bodged repairs lumps bumps dents and scratches... We introduced the hand held devices came up with and developed the software, trained guys well and they were mobile doing 7-11 inspections a day prior to going to the block...this obviously developed over the years and has been slimmed down to what you've got today.
  10. Split my head open there on a gate post in 1981, happy memories
  11. When the corporate world and the real world meet, love it...
  12. Quite a few of us mentioned on your previous thread mate, you got to put the legwork in and get your arse down to an auction and don't leap in and buy any old cheap shite without crawling all over it. If your bidding don't just bid to 'win' it you'll pay to much, research what your interested in, set your max bid in your head and stick to it, don't forget fees. Keep your eyes and ears open and you'll be amazed, shocked probably a better word, at the goings on if you're regularly attending.
  13. Like the website, personally I'd swap the sports wear for a shirt/polo top, but I'm an older fart, and that Z4 sounds like a bag of bolts or is it just a poor recording?
  14. I had no intention of going but a mate was after a Lotus Elan for someone and heard a guy was going with one for sale... in fairness it was a good day, plenty of anoraks but the weather was good, food was good and a pub over the road Plus some cars from memory lane and frightening how relatively 'new' some of it was or am I not admitting to getting older
  15. I've had a couple of these (for the mrs) first one was the shitty bubble thing that I despised but the second was the roadster that I quite enjoyed driving, went round corners like it was on rails and was, dare I say it, fun...although gearbox was still shit
  16. Ha, likewise not seen a HS in years and one pitched up at Wirral Classic Car Show last weekend, was tucking into a sausage butty when it drove past and parked up, plenty of interest in it too
  17. not as ugly as my GSXF ....good point tho! might as well use it during the summer and gain a space
  18. Previous Cat C Freelander td4 auto HSE, surprisingly comfy and economical but every switch is hit and miss whether what ever it operates works or not....although its out the door tomorrow, fetched decent money on ebay and a farmer is taking it. Not sure what the next shitter will be will have to see whats got fuel and mot
  19. Similar experience a few weeks back, nice BMW 120, called the guy up (private ad) and he was also named after a god...next he said he's in Blackburn and at this point I should of known better and just hung up but I didnt, we get up there to collect and the car is sat there engine running so I turned it off and yep you guessed it it wouldnt start, 12 months MOT with no wiper rubbers and 2 bald tyres on the rear we just laughed and walked away...how they have the cheek to be so blatantly dodgy is truly staggering.
