  1. Have I missed something about that red LED on dash? I am wondering if it is a dummy alarm?
  2. Nice post - you're welcome to buy any of my PX's with that sensible and honest approach - good on you my "non-trader" friend.
  3. Perhaps you should tell them of your grand ambitions to earn £2k a month, that would surely sharpen their attention to the amount of business you'll put their way?
  4. I didn't think that was rude personally. In fact, I always find BCA very polite.
  5. Hi jambo22 It is usual etiquette to make a small introduction about yourself. Where you are based, past experience, stock profile etc. As the others have said - experience is the best pricing guide available, along with right colour and spec of a particular model.
  6. I've just noticed than ECJ - no idea why, sure I didn't submit twice but I noticed (I think) this happened to Nick earlier too. Bizarre - wish the same happened to car sales (i.e. double sales).
  7. Same. James (EPV) gave me a link to one which I bought and it works fine, then suddenly starts pointing at the ground or I need to stand too far away. If I use the app it comes with, my computer will not accept it. I know it is operator error but I have little patience.
  8. Wow, every day is a school day. What about registering a car to a customer if you only have the NKS - can this process be reversed?
  9. Thanks Chaps Thought so - just increased my prices
  10. Hoping someone may be able to help me? I self warranty, administered by A1 Approved. Chap wants to extend his warranty for 12 months, which I am "ok" with but would rather not. Normally on an insurance backed scheme, I would not charge VAT becuase I understand there to be IPT instead but as this is my own scheme - do I had VAT to the warranty? Thanks chaps.

  12. I love how you said "the best bit" as you started the engine and by chance the radio played some dramatic music Whoever said ratter is a genius. Advertise it with a new ticket as a rat project at £995 - it'll go instantly IMO. Or even a free space on AT at £1500 for a week or two.
  13. That potion clearly worked very well - bargain.
  14. And that’s my point I do enjoy life, I enjoy how I earn money. On the flip side - retiring early without enough money would drive me mad - so earn as much as you can for as long as you enjoy it, then retire with a nice amount to do other stuff without worrying about keeping your house warm in the senior years. Look at TV - tried to retire couldn’t, Tradex, similar. I would love to find someone to take the business on and I pop in once a month for a “board meeting” - my pension and keeps me active mentally.
  15. I’m gradually increasing my stock value for many reasons but mainly: higher margin finance comms (considered a bonus) decent swappers and hopefully less initial recon and future claims. So for you £2k is a realistic income, you’re lucky - for many whom still have mortgages (I have 3) that isn’t possible. Come retirement though, presuming I am healthy enough - my high borrowings will literally pay dividends. Set high targets and aim for them, otherwise may as well collect trolleys in Tesco. Nothing wrong with that but there’s a lot I want to do and see and that doesn’t pay enough, so I’ve got to gamble.
  16. Because if she has a bump - it will still be on his insurance and when Pip renews his policy next, they will say any accidents, claims or convictions. Even on a separate policy he has to declare anything. Let’s hope it doesn’t happen. We all started somewhere re: insurance, there is no way of avoiding it, just get it done and after 1 year - hopefully a much lower premium follows.
  17. Nick, my margins are probably a lot higher than most people but I don't bank on finance comms - I treat any add-ons (extended warranty, finance etc) as a bonus - that is purely out of the metal. By the way, I do set my target in £ it just happens to equate to around 10 cars per month but I always have contingency.
  18. To earn that, I need to sell 12 cars just for the record. At usual margins, 8 covers everything I need but a steady 12 per month is where I want to be - record is 12 so far but got some big plans happening to achieve 12 reliably. Bloody edit button has gone again - I meant to earn £2k/week not a day Sorry, I mean 12 per month
  19. See, I rarely panic over stickers - there is always one person for every car and the sort of person that wants a bog standard slow car, just looking for economy is right up my street. It was for a while my favourite car, it is currently an i20 - not because I desire one more because it is one I am pretty sure is 100% and whoever does look will buy and be delighted. The only cars I hate being stuck with are problem cars; cars you know need prep/repairs and that are likely to bite you in the ass - godduns like this are welcome to an extended stay.
  20. https://www.imperial-marques.co.uk/cars/citroen/c1/vt/236728/ Here you go - perfect, I will even pay the first 3 months insurance and 12 months tax
  21. I presume at some stage you’ll be buying or at least finding her a car and at some stage she will need insurance. Bite the bullet and get some in her own name now - it will happen soon enough and I wouldn’t be adding my kids to any insurance of mine.
  22. That’s low ambition IMO - £2k a week is what I need/want to do the things I do and if I do genuinely enjoy trying to earn that, how is that likely to limit my life? If I wasn’t selling cars for a living, I would more than likely be tinkering anyway as a hobby, this way I enjoy and earn.
