That must have been some paper round you had in the motherland

Question; During what you chaps perceived as “the good old days” were there a lot of older dealers saying how things aren’t the same as the good old days?
-
Just don’t go to Blackwater. More chance of a wank off the Queen than a cab round there.

I tell them that the reason it’s so low mileage is the previous owners didn’t drive it very far. Its facetious, bordering on being rude and people either get funny with you or they see the joke and relax a little.

20 years maybe. Eventually people will just buy cars from google, whichever page comes up first. I never look at what AT costs me, I look at what it makes me.

Supply and demand mate, it's just business.

Top man thanks. He’s only a few miles away from me so ideal. Thanks again. -

Please share his name! I rarely use said trimmer because I don’t buy stuff that needs that sort of work. It takes up far too much time getting the car to him, leaving it there, going back etc. -
I had a bloke email me about 5 days ago, asking if I would take offers as the car is overpriced. I politely declined and explained why the car is priced as it is priced. He emailed again last night, asking what offers I would take, as the car has been online for sale for a while now and no one is interested. How about you fuck off, sunshine?

My trimmer wants £180 for a section, bolster etc, to be replaced. A ton for a new seat is a no brainer. -
Everything on this thread gets on my tits. But the psychopathic calling 6 times on the bounce without leaving a message when the reason for the call is about as urgent as mowing the grass is the winner. "well they didn't answer me instantly, I'll ring several times in the next 30 seconds until they hear me and answer" I actually am outright rude to people who do this and couldn't give a shit if it loses me a sale. It's bordering on harassment!

People should spend more time learning how to use AT properly rather than moaning its expensive or trying to find a cheap alternative.

That needs trimming, it’s well beyond a smart repair. Check all the breakers as it will be a lot easier to find a seat than a trimmer these days I reckon -
I think it’s information worth repeating. I am 100% of the mindset that court is to be avoided at all costs unless it is a chancer wanting brake pads changed after 4 months and 4,000 miles.
-
I don’t quite follow. If someone brings a case against you to reject a vehicle (as the Galaxy case) then the CRA would be cited? The conduit to bring the case would be the small claims court? I assume your case refers to your spat with DA? So as you can’t use the CRA (as in this case you’re not a consumer) you’re having to use common law? In the galaxy case, which would have been heard in the small claims court, the CRA would be cited and under the CRA a reverse burden of proof exists. Maybe I’m confused as to what you’re saying here.
-
I believe a reverse burden of proof exists for the first 4 weeks and beyond 6 months.

I see. I actually think his defence is wobbly. Instead of answering why the car is fit for purpose (a shagged gearbox on a 2012 plate 61k MPV isn’t fit) he should be arguing his case that the fault couldn’t have been present at the point of sale because here is my signed PDI mr judge and 10,000 miles since that PDI was signed strongly suggests that the fault has developed many miles after the point of sale and mr customer has been unlucky.
-
Other page? Wasn’t his case struck out because he didn’t pay his fees or didn’t cross a t or for an i he was supposed to? I think the way he’s behaved in terms of refusing you access to the car etc etc would endear you but i imagine it’s all on the day. If a judge took the view that you can’t prove the fault wasn’t present at the point of sale then what’s to say the judge won’t find in favour of the cretin?

I’ve decided to keep mine actually, I just need to sell 20 cars a month to afford to get to my unit
-
Actually I think you will be moving into thinner territory. It stands to reason the more expensive a car the fewer buyers (still plenty though at that price point) Knowing what to fix and what not to (cosmetically) is an art i’ve only recently mastered. I used to mint everything up, now I just get it to a state where it looks half it’s age and that is plenty better than most out there. A condition video appraisal stops the picky fuckers arriving at your door, as the video weeds that out and bobs your uncle.

To be fair I forgot you have the diesel meaning cam belt.
-
You need a better Indy! i had all fluids done on my RR, tranny, transfer case, brake fluid, coolant and of course oil, all filters including pollen plus spark plugs, supercharger belt, aux belt, all for £720 inc the vat.

The person who puts in the highest bid! If that is identical to someone else then whomever has the fastest broadband connection I expect

Get hold of an email address for the bank, send a copy of the signed invoice/receipt as proof the customer agreed to pay the contract price.

One of the best pieces of advice I was given a year ago was to not listen to other traders. It’s excellent advice. There are far too many doom mongers out there. OP, buying five grand stock isn’t that much different to £500 stock. You need to prep better cosmetically but as long as you are doing the job right, selling sound cars and giving good customer service, it’s the same thing. Buy some stuff you like and see how you get on. Get some miley newer stuff, lower mileage older stuff, hot hatches, diesel barges and see what works. Or, more specifically, what you enjoy.
