What are you guys doing with our bad buys from the block? Bought a TT auto last month but it had so many things wrong with it. Glove box broke, drivers window button broke, aircon knob broke, missing parcels shelves and clips rear cluster needed replacing - front headlight cracked. Rear fog lamp needed rewiring - repairs and labour looking like £700 plus servicing - luckily mechanically sound - 2 weeks before it’s going to ready by the time I find all the bits. Would you of outed this or spent the time on it and bit the bullet? ive actually got everything done and should make £200 but it’s been a total ball ache.

-
sold an a4 convertible today, up for top money. customer bought a car from us last week, really happy, introduced his friend today, viewed our website and rung up and said ill have it without seeing it. picking it up later today as all prepped and ready to go. very rarely they are this good. so glad i spent the extra hour with the previous customer.

To give you an idea, I have business banking with all 3 santander - quick opening service, telephone banking and internet banking only but can pay cash in via post office hsbc - who my car dealership is with. 2 months to open accoun due to their incompetence- can pay cash in over counter. But overall useless. Barclays by far the best, quick opening service 5-7 days, staff are excellent - online banking is awesome and staff are excellent - can withdraw £2000 cash from inside bank. Barclays rock

Alloy wheel colour limiting your market?
Grantlfc81 replied to Grantlfc81's topic in General Dealer Chat
I think they was black at factory. I hate black so much. I love the slightly darker greys on an Audi TT though -
I’m a firm believer in keeping your cars available to a wider audience at all costs. ive had a grey 1 series come in with black wheels that need respraying - Do I put them back to silver or keep them black? I absolutely hate black wheels and I think that you have a smaller audience to sell too.... I swear it reduces your market and cars with black wheels to me look like the car has been ragged about by a boy racer

Sold an e class 10 plate Friday. Guy didn’t even test drive it. Saturday Sunday dead as a dodo. Today, had someone on a mini convertible then preferred a TT convertible, drove both, went for a coffee and never saw them again lol
-
We bought a bunch of mini’s but they really are hard to shift. There are SO many of them around my area that they really are 2 a penny - However if you have a mini parklane or a sought after one they sell pretty easily. i tend to stay away from them now as I never seem to make much money from them and they are always sitting around developing problems.

I’m very fortunate to be trading in a part of Essex (Billericay) that has easy access to London, and so our surrounding population has access to money and available credit but a lot of our customers travel quite far as well. I should imagaine the people near by in the huge houses are still living close to their limits. I don’t think many people are cash rich any more. ive just had a customer fly from Germany to pick up a 2006 320 si with 116k miles on it for £2700? And drive it back. How weird is that?

What’s your stock profile? Website link?

We have been so busy it is rediculous, done 3 today and a few in the week. Start of the month was absolutely atrocious though. Emotional rollercoaster lol

£4790 is the cheapest on auto trader by £200 how on earth is that being greedy? i bought well, so why shouldnt i benefit?
-
My friends grandad just walked in and paid full asking price for the Passat estate.... yet its been on auto trader for 30 days without an enquiry. shoot me now. I will never buy another one of those again unless i get it dirt cheap lol - word of mouth will always be victorious
-
well facebook market place is pretty decent for me. i have just read in america they are opening it up to dealerships. I seem to be getting more enquiries from facebook than auto trader at present thats for sure. Autotrader has been dire for us this month!
-
I seem to be doing really well on facebook market place for your cheaper cars.... px's that you get in for less than £3k - BMW's under £2000 literally fly out of the door However my business partner just got kicked off of facebook but we are not sure why? is there any rules about selling cars as a business on marketplace? any body else doing well with it?
-
lets see what happens. still £900 profit in it which is a decent mark up i guess got a viewing on my A8 shortly so fingers crossed.
-
So, ive reduced the price to £4790 - needs a pdi and already had MOT with no advisories, lets see how this goes. amazing how some little stunners simply will not sell
-
The Price was 4990 all along on autotrader. however ive adjusted the price on my website now. Such a shame this little git wont shift. not even an email or a phone call on it. The cars wants for nothing. ill put some more info on auto trader but.... who knows.
-
Paid £3800 for the Passat - I feel £4990 is extremely well priced. And it's in great condition.

Hi it is all outlined on the auto trader advert but not on my website. We are working on the description section at present. Baby steps
