  1. If you have only just started trading and are a ltd company, dissolve the company before a court case is filed and start under a new name but don't repeat the same stupid mistakes as you did this time round.

Some people might not agree with the above but in the real world this happens on a daily basis, it's no worse than PLCs hiring workers on a zero hour contract, minimum wage and getting rid of them whenever they please.

  2. Last time I went brighouse breakfast cost me £12 for me and my missus on Platinum.. an old man owns the cafe and is miserable as sin it's not a chain like all the other BCA sites.. everywhere else it costs us £6 combined.

    Cars ain't cheap either.

  3. Your current market is where I am and I agree it is very hard, for example today there was a 2006 Nissan Note 1.6 SVE, Good Spec, 97K Mileage, Some History, Nice car a couple of dents but would of retailed for £1695 / £1795 on my pitch.. today this sold for £1050, cap clean is £910, CAP is miles out for Nissan Notes and they never make clean.

4 Months ago I bought the same car in a respectable condition, slightly less spec for £475 hammer price and sold for £1495 No prep other than an MOT and Service.

The problem with this end of the market as I'm sure you're aware it attracts all the fly by night traders, Asian and Polish Car sales groups who are flipping cars for £50 profit and it is only getting worse.

  4. This has to be Benji trying to annoy us all over again, take your £200K and have a year long holiday.

I'm going to offer you the opportunity of a life time, 1 rented premises & rented pitch low over heads incl Workshop, £30K worth of cars (20 cars ready to go).. in a nut shell this is a business in a box all for the small price of £200K.

Then I will go and have a year long holiday using your kesh.

    Sorry but this is wrong.

I occasionally drift outside of my "zone" very occasionally but my zone consists of German, estate or SUV, high spec, leather.

I would never sell an Astra or Fiesta with cloth seats.

You need to like what you sell imo, to some degree. That doesn't mean only sell what you really like but if you find small cars with cloth seats and no toys soulless (like I do) then don't convince yourself you can grow to like them. Fine, if you don't care, will sell anything, don't like cars, don't like driving etc then it doesn't matter. But to say niches only work if it's performance or exotic is wrong.

Lucas, if you hate manual cars, don't sell them. There's a garage local to me that has been going for 40 years, they only sell Automatics, only ever been Automatics, only ever will.

Follow your nose, as Mr Dealy says.

Which is why the internet is such a great invention when used properly. Last week I bought 4 cars, from Manchester, Mansfield, Wimbledon and Colchester. I was in my PJ's at the time.

Each to their own.. you keep buying online but until the Assured Reports and Condition reports have a massive improvement I'll keep using my own judgement and eyes to buy cars.

yes you said once already ;)

Haha I know it seems to have embedded it's self in my latest reply.

I've managed to delay hand over until after Christmas so if it needs an engine then it gets an engine.. we will check the exhaust tomorrow morning. Fed up who would have thought these little tin can cars would be so complex.

I've been told it may potentially be an ECU fault which shuts down the injector in Cyl 3, however it seems to be very rare.
