  1. They're cheap for a reason..... You get what you pay for.
  2. It was just a visual check. We'll pull out the battery tomrrow and see whats what. Thanks for the tips!
  3. Hi all, We've got a 2004 Audi A4 Allroad Estate and have found the passenger side rear footwell is really wet. It's only that one footwell, the rest of them and the spare wheel well are all dry. Its fresh water, not coolant. We've checked the scuttle panel, and thats clear. Has anyone else had the same? Just looking for some pointers where to check next. Any common leaks on these Audis? Thanks in advance!
  4. Carry handcuffs and a gag - excercise your right to silence and act like you've been kidnapped.... Win-win!
  5. Yes your right! But it'd be the Driver at the wheel who will get the 6 Points and the fine. I'm sure the owner will just get a fine. Unless the owner tells the police he didnt give permission and the driver would get done for TWOC (although it'd be funny to try and tell that to a copper with a straight face when you're sat in the passenger seat )
  6. Yes, almost all buyers will test drive cars that you are selling in the £1000-£2000 range. Its unlikely that you will be buying cars with reports in that price bracket. May be more sensible for you too look out for cheapies for sale privately so you can have a good viewing and a test drive. You need to cover yourself with your paperwork. I'd highly recommend downloading the 'How to be a car dealer' guide on the forum as it'll give you much more helpful advice. Every day is a school day, I don't consider myself an expert. There are a lot more experianced voices than mine on the forum, so pay attention to the advice given to you. But first, insurance is a must. You'll need to to register with most auction houses, to collect your cars and run them too and from MOTs / garages, to test drive. Also, you'll be covered for SD&P on your own personal car too. When you work out the costs, you'll see that trade insurance is probably more cost effective than day insuring a car every time you want to use it.
  7. It be the driver at the time of being pulled over! So the buyer gets to test drive your car, pulled over, 6 points and your car towed away. Can't see that being a sucessful sales pitch! Oh, and don't forget your Trade plates too - well, you can't have those without proof of insurance, so you've got no road tax either. Phone around and get some other quotes. Do it properly, or not at all. The bear minimum is to be legit on the test drive!
  8. If we were based closer we'd be offering to help you out. We've got trade plates and a recovery truck! But, we're based in North Devon. Best of luck.

You're on the wrong forum here.... You're looking for Mumsnet or Consumer Action Group.
  11. Was going to buy the WOW Wurth. Downloaded the software online - a few days later the laptop screen went black and a skull and crossbones came up. Had to had the harddrive wiped and re-installed. Also had to be quizzed if we ues this computer for downloading porn! No, it was dodgy software.... Yeah, I wonder how many times the computer guy has heard that before Seriously, we've got a handheld Autel and that is enough for us. The machine is only as good as the operator
  12. There is a pretty thorough description directly above your post Helen.
  13. But did you do the secret handshake?
  14. We had a Panda 100HP. Had it for about 4 months in total, was a Cat D - so was expecting it to stay a while, but so much fun to drive we ended up putting about 3k miles on it! - Each eBay listing got over 1500 views. So, that makes 6,000 internet armchair 'buyers' before someone bought it. Also had a BMW 316i SE Auto (NEVER AGAIN!) - Had it 9 months. Each eBay listing got over 500 views from the internet expects. Both turned a healthy profit, and no negotion so can't complain! - Got sick of seeing the BMW especially, Panda was a hoot! On the other hand - a Saab 9-5. £550 tax so was expecting it to hang around... Listed it at about 10:30 - 13 ad views later and the new owner is driving it away at 3PM. Funny old game.....

  16. We tried it for 6 months just over 2 years ago.... We had a few emails & calls but no sales.
  17. I upgraded from an iPhone 6S to the budget Huawei P Smart - less than £200 brand new. Step above the iPhone in every way. Then I dropped the bloody thing and have now upgraded to the Huawei P30 - Camera is something else. No need for a seperate camera, the pics are that good. Would never go back to Apple after using a Huawei.
  18. We've done alright with the couple of Zafiras we've had... Always take 3 viewings to sell
  19. When we started out we bought a nice 5 door 1 Series. Looked over it, bid and won it very cheap, drove home lovely... Great! Next day, starting to valet it we noticed that its lovely cream leather interior was from a 3 door with the fold handles, and the rear seat bench was black cloth but the backrests were cream leather! D'oh! I guess that the 3 and 5 dr 1 Series have different seat bases, and we couldn't find a matching base for love nor money. Customer loved it as it was with (her words 'two tone') interior would be great as her little dog wouldn't ruin the leather on the seat base as he'd done in her previous car. Lessons learned that day: 1, Check all the interior matches. 2, Don't bid from the top row of seats!
  20. Our 1 and only time at Blackbushe wasn't great compared to our usual Bridgwater. We'd bought 1 online and gone up to collect and buy 1 more in the hall. Counter staff at Blackbushe seemed so rude compared to Bridgwater, I nearly got wiped out by someone sprinting between halls, when we had bought we had to wait 3 hours for the keys from the office as they'd gone walkabouts. Our car was in the back car park, and was told by staff to grab a lift from the minibus - asked the minibus driver if he'd take us round. No. So 1/2 mile walk (with the minibus driving past halfway, of course) to the car, and off we went. Thank god that was over! Was chatting to an old boy there who was staff, he said a lot of the time the drivers just go home early. Nobody cares whatsoever. So, if we were to go again we'd be prepaered for a wait and a warm welcome (not!)
  21. If you've read through your own T&C's and even you (naturally biased) reading them it comes across that you'll be refunded if you change your mind after leaving a deposit, you've got to give him his money back..... Then change your T&Cs to rectify the mistake so it doesn't happen again.
  22. The only car we've ever been given was a W reg Daewoo Matiz. We were planning just to use it as a storage shed, but the car was that shit that it wasn't even suitable for that Scrapped it for £20 Quids in!
  23. We did - awaiting reply. He was replying within 15 mins to all messages, but now.... Thing is, he sent 3 messages (was asked to call, suprise suprise, never called as he works 15 hours a day - poor thing) asking about a part ex, when it specifically says in the advert - No Part Ex as its a SOR car. Had a 170k 55 plate Saab 9-5 Estate, guy wanted £900 for it. 220k 55 Plate Honda CR-V, guy wanted £1000. 180k 02 Golf TDi, guy wanted £800. A monstrosity of a modified Citroen C4 coupe, 06, wants £1,690 Dreamers. We're always pretty generous when it comes to PX prices as well so its even more of a suprise when people are so insulted
