  1. Still on the Absinthe Chief? Hair of the dog? ;0) What about diesel convertibles? I understand them even less. Who wants a noisy tractor engine puffing soot into the car? Am I missing more 'great fun' here?
  2. So true as always. Ray Bans and loud music or even worse- taking a call on hands free and the conversation is blaring out for the whole world to hear! Worse again is a bloke in a drop-top Porsche or Ferrari etc. I know what goes through my mind when I see a (usually middle-aged) bloke in one. Controversially, I don't mind it in an old classic like a TR7 or MG or something crap, but you can't make eye contact T.V. silly you!
  3. Nice weather? That’s what AC is for. With the roof down!? Must have all your hair still.
  4. True. Exactly the text I received. And deserved/fair too! So stupid. Even after all these years I’m still a twat & should know better.
  5. Yeah sorry, I was asking Cheif. Coors? In Newcastle? ;o)
  6. Absinthe.....mmmmmm. That explains a lot ;o)
  7. Ha. Yes. We are of the same mind (old bastards) ‘Mx 5 in a dress’ is my favourite wind up when she annoys me ;o)
  8. German poo. Not like the old days Chief! I’d happily leave it where it breaks down at £495 in chop.
  9. I had to drive my Mrs’ Fiat Spider yesterday (yes she’s now on her second new one) I always have the last word, but it’s “Yes Dear” (as it was dirty and she doesn’t know how to put fuel in it.) Was on the driveway with the roof down. I thought ‘no one will see me, I’ll leave the roof down. The minute I get to the garage I have a text from my ‘mate’ doubting my sexuality!
  10. Many are called. Few are chosen. Easy it is not. Still 3/4 of a tank in my PX. Small victories!
  11. Briil. I nearly polished a scratch once.
  12. Same here- you just end up realizing you're better off selling everything. You can always polish in value (especially if you have a Polish polisher like I do). I too have a mate who buys the utter crap or things without much of a future. He often pays me when he's sold them. He mostly puts them on Bookface as Justin says- That's one platform too far for me (I don't even have a personal one or any social media - unless this forum counts?)

    Dilemma

Ha. Yup but my left/ customer's right. Small- Big, Bigger. Sad but true.

    Dilemma

I did a Red, White, Blue, Red, White, Blue..... theme one year. Jubilee I think. A pitch in my home town always has black cars on the front row. Looks like a Funeral Directors. All German too so probably feels like one too.

    Dilemma

I think if you only have a few cars or do it from home then I too would be avoiding them, but it’s nice to be different though. (My wife says I’m ‘different’ quite often) I find gopping/bright colours do OK and brighten the site up. Especially with my OCD where I can’t have two of the same colour cars next to each other or I lose sleep. My Sunday man does this on purpose I think just to wind me up. Or puts a little car inbetween large 4x4’s just to be annoying. Or puts a window sticker upside down and doesn’t line the fronts up. Or leaves the booster box in any one of 50 cars..... Silver is the kiss of death, nearly as much as German or diesel. A silver, German, diesel- oh the horror! ;o)
  16. My earliest memory: being shouted at by my dad for letting the T Cut dry and not keeping the muslin cloth flat and not turning it over/not using all the cloth. Really enjoying valeting a mustard Opel on my own when they went up to the block up country. Doing a great job and the w****er didn’t even say well done but promised me 50 quid- it never arrived.. Watching them make a grand a time in the early 80’s like shelling peas. My own first trade car (Didn't give me a penny) so I had to buy a Viva with my own money with a knackered box and I put a Chevette gearbox in it on the old bastard’s driveway and got no help so had to figure it out myself. Good old days
  17. So true. You ‘just know’ twenty yards away.
  18. Dunno if it was a bargain. It’s doubtful on DA but it was a 2 Owner 2013 Range Extender done 20 in grey met. Made £13700 BMW launch model with following spec; Professional Navigation Concierge Service 19" Alloys Winter Pack Charging cables present.
  19. Ha. Nooo. £995 with the fuel light light on. ;0) Nick, did you buy that i3 that was on DA today? Result! Don’t you just love it. This old Merc has just been serviced and Mot’d too. Freezing cold AC. Nice.
  20. £495 PX with full tank of fuel and auto! Does it get any better?! Guess what I’m driving the next few weeks!
  21. Reminds me of 'nearly buying an Astra'.
  22. Usually about 40-50 in stock. We have a main road site I’ve tried heavier stuff in the past and have a couple around the 30k mark usually, but I’d go broke if that’s all I stocked. Plus I’d lose what’s left of my hair if I did Best business for me anyway always is at the the 5-10 grand range-although I try to have something for everybody from about three grand. Best sellers seem to consistently be in the 3-5 grand range and then the 7-10 I happily resurrect and re-sell the PX’s where sensible also. Low miles and good spec wherever possible and absolutely no diesels or German cars if I can help it too, and they get hit hard if such come in PX. Good luck with it. Everyone on here will be happy to help if you need any advice.
  23. Yeah. I noticed the same. Still.. all good things and all that. Theres a free Hpi one but you’ve gotta input a few more details.
