Really good month for me with 17 on the board out of 22 in stock. Has been nice and steady since just after christmas.

Hi Rory thanks looking online it looks like it could be this fingers crossed as it seems to throw up misfire codes and other similar symptoms when faulty. Looks like a cheap easy fix if so!

Hi guys, we seem to have a couple of odd faults with cars recently. We have an Octavia VRS 2.0 tfsi which after getting up to temperature then left to idle for a couple of minutes throws up a EPC, EML and light bulb warning then starts to misfire. If you turn it off and on again car runs fine. It has been plugged in and shows a cylinder 2 misfire but have changed around coil, plug and new injector but still shows same cylinder fault. Car drives really well just this odd fault when left to idle. Any VW experts come across this before? Thanks in advance.

Pass to lawgistics, these chancers soon change their tune when they get a properly worded letter from a law firm.

Shall I remove "Black Edition" to appear in more AT searches?

Nick how did you get on with this? I have a very similar car coming into stock so would be Aintreting to find out if you had more hits in the S Line category. I also have a 3 series Sport Plus coupe in stock with no great viewing figures. May give that a go under the M Sport model. Thanks -
If you can prove that the cambelt was done when you advertised then you have not misrepresented the car.

MPC in Basingstoke do a lot of work for us. They are good guys.
-
These are similar to the bmw n43 engine, I know they are awful things and once in a while one will sting you but they sell so I cannot help myself!
-
As everyone else has stated is a well known fault with the pistons or the rings. Audi day allow up to 1000 miles per litre and even state it in the owners manual, any more is deemed excessive. Is a costly repair unfortunately.

Last couple of A4 avant s lines I have had in stock sat for a while before they sold. Similar age and miles to yours. I don’t think they are as desirable as they once were. I think Nav is a must also. -
Thanks for your help I’ll speak to the workshop again and see if they have the required diagnostic to speak to the abs unit.
-
Hi stalker I have just cleared the codes and test drove the car again. The fault did not reappear and the start stop is working so maybe not the sensor as you say. It has happened twice now at random times both on road test with punters! I can’t get it to come back on when I drive it so I’m stumped.
-
I’m not sure I got the workshop we use to read the codes, I believe they have some form of snap on. they said there was nothing related to abs but just a code for NOX sensor. Just strange to have a brake and EML light come on together.
-
Hi Nick, thanks yes I didn’t think it was NOX related, as you say it always seems to pop up with that code no matter what the issue. Would you not think if it were an abs / dsc unit fault it would come up with a traction fault also? Also strange it sets off an EML fault also.

Hi guys, after some help have a fault with a 2010 320i which randomly comes up with a fault on the I drive for “high brake load” and “red engine malfunction warning”. i have had it plugged in and all that comes up is a NOX sensor fault. Could a NOX sensor cause this? I have read a couple of post online about brake vacuum pump but there are no fault codes relating to the brake warning message at all. Any help is appreciated before I start throwing parts at it.

I would be going round to the customers house and taking the car back until you are paid. Most invoices state “title to purchase does not pass from the seller until cleared funds are paid.”
-
The month finished well for us having got 6 away between 27th and today having not sold anything since the 8th!
-
Sounds to me that the mileage entered for the car in January 2016 was an error. It is unlikely the car did 50k miles in 5 months since August 15.
-
How's everyone found the last couple of weeks? Been absolutely dead here. Hopefully some customers show their faces after Christmas.

The guy is an idiot, trying to make up rules and laws as he pleases. The car is his and is his responsibility to tax and insure it while in his possession. Any damages caused would not be down to you but him or the garage who have the car at the moment. If the car gets impounded as he has failed to tax it that is down to him. I personally would take a firm stance with him and send him a recorded delivery letter stating that you want he car returned within 14 days for a full inspection. There will be no further correspondence or offers made until the inspection has been carried out. This is your legal right to do so, just like you cannot deny someone their consumer rights, they cannot deny yours. The law is there to protect both parties.
-
Yes the judges are not stupid, they can tell a chancer when they see one. I would take it all the way, worst case scenario you have to refund him but I very much doubt you will have to refund the whole amount if it came to it as it is clear the customers garage which he appointed to do the repairs have been negligent. Also you are fully entitled to carry out an indipendant inspection. The customer refusing you to do so only works against them as you are following the correct process.
-
Exactly what I was thinking. Would have had to have access to the dealer auction database or the dealers account to find out what dealer won the auction.
-
Exactly the same as last month here. Got 7 away the first week and not a sniff since, not even any email leads in the last week.

This advert made me chuckle earlier. Pictures don't get much better than that! I just found a great car on Auto Trader: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201812073065049

Anyone up to speed on a 2005 BMW 6 series
James01 replied to andymc1973's topic in General Dealer Chat
If it's the same as a 1 series they suffer from corroded ABS rings on the driveshaft which can cause the light to come on. This also causes the traction to kick in randomly when driving.
