  1. Does that mean if the customer goes elsewhere i lose the customer and any comms ?
  2. Not had it happen to me as of yet.. and why would they ? i get paid for the referral if the customer buys my car or not but its more beneficial to keep me happy so ill send them more customer's and visa versa.. it actually works quite well that they trust me with their customer's (i don't place them) and them with mine, they must have 100k's of customers still looking for a car on their stock search and ill have as many as they can give me.. like you say we are here to make money. As i mentioned above i'm told it's a "bespoke journey" so referrals don't have the stock search access to keep them focused on my car to avoid what you have mentioned. Maybe i'm wrong but the opportunity of a good working relationship with a business that have a hell of a lot of pre approved customers still looking for cars that i can have at no charge is a no brainier...maybe Close would pay me more comms but iv'e never has a customer sent from them to me? so bigger picture i'm better off. we will see i guess...
  3. We use Zuto to broker the sub prime stuff, always found them a pleasure to deal with when they have sent customers our way. x17 Lenders and will pay £150+VAT for anything that pays out but you do need some permissions to be able to prop to them, no portal as such yet but you can email the prop over or they send you a unique link which is an application form traceable back to the us and all the props go through a team put together for dealer props so quite a bespoke experience for the customer i'm told £150+vat isn't amazing but its better than £0 and they sign the customers up for us and sort the proofs so we just have to provide an invoice.
  4. Ask for full payment and storage cost's and you can keep the car for him for as long as he likes, if he then doesn't want the car come feb, factor in depreciation and give the remainder back (if you the space to do it)
  5. Lost interest actually translates to "its harder than it looks this cars sales lark, so can you sell the cars for me and ill take all the profit from your work ?" Its really a dead opportunity, as they want their money back plus a fixed amount so any negotiation on price from the customer comes of your cut as they have already fixed there's. I'd doth my cap, wish them good luck, offer a firm hand shake and bid them farewell then steal them of ebay in a few weeks when every other dealer local has said the same as you.
  6. Not sure pal, i don't know what the criteria is which decides who falls into reputable and disreputable categories with them ? possibly reviews but then again not everyone pushed for them.
  7. "This membership is open to all reputable Independent Dealers " Would a new trader be classed as reputable ?
  8. Agree with Tradex to be honest, i presume it would be a "you sold it, it's your issue conversation" also imagine having a conversation with the customer and explaining "i know i sold you the car but it wasn't actually one of my cars so you need to chase such and such who actually no longer trade etc.." If they want rid and its good stock can you not buy it as yours and sell it as yours ?

so the magnificent seven return for a sales pitch but not to answer any of the above...
  10. Eagerly awaiting update's on the Subaru customer .... hopefully he's spent all weekend ironing his lovely blue owners club fleece in prep for collection day

    The IMDA

Baffled by both Jim's and Umesh's response ... if there is nothing to hide then bury the concerns people have raised... i'm not saying you do have anything to hide at all but having the wealth of knowledge in the industry and within business the founding members have i would presume that you know how valuable reputation is ? There is a forum full of potential members and to grown the IMDA as you plan you need as many new members as possible. It seems to be the founding members are very protective of what they have created and why not... its your baby, but to reply in the manner that you have done seems to deter people from being involved rather than encourage them. In essence above @LawJaw have acted as a neutral platform to voice the concerns of a dealer but from a legal perspective........ THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT THE IMDA TO DO AND BE so why make it sound like they are having a pop because of they don't work with you or you with them ?? soooo confused by the actions of the IMDA....

    The IMDA

i can't help but find it all very odd.. the "seven" seemed quite eager to defend themselves to start with but when deeper questions/concerns were raised they have given up. It's quite a strange approach to take, if you want people to join up and potentially donate then you would surely do everything within your power to instil confidence into those same people..maybe now the subscriber fee has gone no one wants to work for "free"

Can anyone explain the below to me ? Was just a little confused how you "lock out the competition" but it states there is a maximum of 5 per sector.. so you lock out the competition apart from the other 4 companies that are allowed in ? Also in the benefits it sounds like a lot of the information I would get access to, I get with AM Online already FOC. Cheers
  14. Are Cazana funded by 24/7 ? I believe 24/7 also use a "crawler" to skim the information off dealer sites and that's why the photos look like trash on Car Craft. I guess it's cheaper for them rather than arranging direct feeds from hosts.
  15. There's a thread about 5 down titled "TRADE INSURANCE, who do you use? " maybe worth looking there rather than asking the same question again
  16. I agree in regards to the capped £150 comms with Zuto Grant, however i don't mind it on the subprime stuff when they look after all the proofs and sign ups etc. Think the lending panel is 16 now so decent coverage.
  17. Hiya Alfie, Got us abit panicked there, just called our rep and they have said it was a mistake made by the operator on the live chat, best bet is to give them a call on 01625 619 944 and ask for the dealer referral team
  18. WOW never knew some brokers wrote that into the contracts ! I think the one we signed was if it unwinds within the first month they get the £150 back, which makes sense i guess.
  19. I believe Zuto are now brokering deals and pay a commission also. Not found better service from a broker yet when they've sent us customer's and am getting the same service when we've propped to them, keep us up to date on where the customer is up to and advise on the rates and payments the customer has been approved for so we are in the know too.
  20. No one is forced to advertise with Auto Trader so i don't understand all the threads about them, if you feel what you pay doesn't return what you think it should do then simply don't pay it, many have and have lived to tell the tale (there's many an example on here) It's like buying a steak from Waitrose and comparing to a steak from Netto, naturally the cheaper of the two probably wont be as nice but if your happy with it and your full afterwards then that's all that matters. You then wouldn't go on to Twitter and tell Waitrose that their steaks are too expensive compared to the one you just bought from Netto.
  21. PromoteAuto... Dealer Research
  22. Even a sub prime customer knows when the rates are crazy high, an approval mean's nothing if your lenders are nailing YOUR customers to the wall ! Who brokers your deals ? have you considering having a trial period elsewhere and see if the numbers pick up ?
  23. AT are well aware of peoples issues with their pricing, i'm not sure they'd go to that effort confirm what they already knew ?
  24. Hi All, Just wondered if anyone knew the website address for this new sales site ? I'm intrigued to see what all the "research" went into ? as i think it was mentioned it would go live today. Cheers
