Credit Card Charges.... What do we do now??
Tadams replied to Wood235's topic in General Dealer Chat
Am i correct in thinking that if you label it an admin fee you have to then charge every customer an admin fee regardless if they are paying cash, card or finance ? Something to do with you can't penalise a customer for paying with a card..was something we were told as there was a local dealer charging a customer an "admin fee" if they took outside finance but then told the same customer if they take their finance then there is no fee so as above the customer was being penalised for taking outside finance. -
I'm not clued up on this at all... how does it work exactly? does a customer enquiry go to MotoNovo and if they get approved come to you as a interested customer with a approval in place ? I know they started doing rate for risk but what happens with really sub prime enquires ? do they still tell you about the customer and you try and place it or do they pass it on to a broker ?

it's shame that it's needed but quite easy to water mark your photo's

My favourite has always been customer collects a Qashqai .. no more than 5 mins later she calls was the anger of a x1000 demon's "this car is broken already .. the seat belt warning buzzer will not turn off ... if this is what i am to expect from the car i want a full refund.. compensation.. free trip to mexico" (you know the script) " "No worries Mrs customer come back and lets have a look" Pull's in with handbag on passenger seat , which was setting the alarm off.... maybe we need to advise of this next time too.. but how much info is too much info .. ? Anyways she left.. quite embarrassed and the same colour that she had actually been to mexico for a 2 weeks with no sun cream

If your worried about telling them something as it sound bad ... then i'd probably tell them but justify it. It will be more in regards to information the dealer is privy too but choose's to hide or camouflage to lead a buyer towards a certain decision, that if they knew the information they may have made differently. I wouldn't worry about a car being stolen and a customer saying " well the dealer didn't tell me i had to lock it"

I think being in the "position of power" that you are as a seller you probably aren't legally required to disclose the information but in the interest of transparency if it is a high number car then be honest.. we are anyways. Mr/Mrs customer its a 4 owner car but then it is a convertible and most people don't want to drive them in the winter etc or it's an 08 plate with 5 owners.. that's 2 years per keeper which is about average.... how long have you had your current car for ? ..... it's quite easy to turn a customer question into a bit of chat but still tell them what they want to know Very few cars are that much of a lemon that they just get passed from pillar to post before someone realises that there is a fault and rectify's it, > Buyers remorse >The Mrs doesn't like it >Can't afford the finance >A kid on the way the list is endless...... I think that is what scares most customers of high number cars, they all think people are trying to move a bad car on, put that theory to bed and your fine.

Do you think perhaps the main reason you get people who continuously come at you with "best offer" on an Ebay add is perhaps because Ebay is in fact an auction site and the majority of items on there you do actually bid on to try and get it for as cheap as you can? So it's not that they are always cheeky/rude customers, they are actually type of customer you would expect to attract from a site like Ebay... don't forget it's not AT so we don't expect AT type customers ? That's not to say alot aren't just time wasters/morons but if you advertise on an auction site then expect to get bids... Thoughts ?

If it needs a service then service it inline with the service schedule.. if its been done recently there is no need and your just spending money that someone else has already spent. I don't 100% understand the protect yourself in court theory and try and rectify things loooonnngggg before you talk about going to court... most things that go wrong on cars aren't usually serviceable items anyway like sensors etc.. don't spend a fortune getting another stamp in the book.. just price it accordingly

It's now a 6 owner car (i guess OP has registered in to himself now so no longer the 5 that's in the advert) manual S3 for not big money these days so chances are what you have described is exactly whats happened I guess sometimes you play to the car's strength's .. you may well deter some buyers saying it's been modified but equally it appeals the another group who don't want to spend the money modifying it themselves. Like i said above i think if you are honest and give as much info about any modifications as possible it's not always a bad thing, If it's been done by a well known name in the VAG scene it's 100% a plus factor.
-
First line contradicts it's self .. "This Audi has not been modified in any way apart from a stage 1 remap" so in actual fact it has been modified so the first line his pointless or/and a lie. Try "The car has been tastefully modified to add to the already exceptional power of the S3, these modifications included (insert supporting mods) were carried out by a performance Audi specialist (insert specialist name).

The fact that most if not all MPV's are full of broken up Quavers on the back seats pooled in the dents the baby seats have made !

An extension lead and a dehumidifier will solve one of your problems always found that i get far better results than using the blowers and saves me leaving the car running too.

Advert write ups and proper vehicle advetising
Tadams replied to HKQAC's topic in General Dealer Chat
If you shoot in Auto and check the histogram it will give you an idea of what you need to set your ISO at etc to then apply those settings to AV and work from there (oviously factor in that in AV you will get less light so may need to bump up your ISO until you are happy) If they are over exposed and you cant go any lower on ISO just up your shutter speed, UV filters and tint filters (as noted above) are great and will take a lot of the reflection of the car and shot with your back to the sun and not into it. -

What are setting are you shooting in ? you can get pictures that don't need running through light room you just have to shoot in the correct setting. -

Don't take the pics underneath a tree as mentioned above, find a nice area and the sign itself isn't all that bad (just maybe it slung on the wall makes it look bad) Have you considered a plate cover with the company name on ? -

As above .. spend more time on your photo's.. remember this is the first thing any potential customer will see. > Looks like you have chucked a sign over the wall at the local boozer and got some snaps > Cars that aren't yours in the back ground > Bonnet open on other cars (you might not think it but people will notice this) > Different angles/heights on all the photo's Perhaps invest in a tripod (you can mount a DSLR with ease or you can also attach a phone to them too) this will mean all your pics will be a the same height going around the car and aim for a full circle. Customer's can be a fickle bunch ! "why haven't they shown the front bumper at the same angle as the other's??" etc... If you are confident in what you are selling you should take pride in it, and portray it in the best way possible to your audience. -
We had this many moons ago, they amended the sale price of the cars to horrifically cheap then added their own mobile number .. customer call's.. guy answers and says there has been lost of interest in the car .. customer pays deposit over the phone to Mr Criminal's account .... customer turns up hoping to pick up the deal of the year and then everyone realises whats gone on

Not happy in what respect ?
-
Yeh we get customers from them and we send a few their way, works well in that respect. Just always found them quite nice people to deal with and with the size of lending panel they have its a one shot thing, if they cant approve it i doubt anyone else could. In regards to comms what they pay on a SP deal is probably higher than most anyways and its easy as they sign the customer up, get the proofs (if needed) and just ask me for an invoice. Maybe we lose a little on prime stuff but they are few and far between at the moment.
-
We send everything to Zuto, they got in contact towards the end of last year that they now have a dealer referral arm to the business. We prop to them, they place with one of 18 lenders hopefully of which can do the original car, if we they can't they will call with criteria and ill look for another car for the customer that fits. If that doesn't work they will place them at another dealer and if it pays i still get a comms payment as without me they wouldn't of had the cust so rite fully so they pay me for it. That way i still get something even if i don't sell the original car.
-
But i would still get paid a commission for the customer even if they buy elsewhere... That's my experience anyways
-
I understand all the above but as a business there is more of a draw to put my customer in someone else's car as it makes you more money ?
-
@First Response How does the work or is fare in any way ? If i introduce my customer and they buy elsewhere i lose the customer and the comms BUT you haven't lost anything ... you still make your money on the finance interest which you wouldn't have done without me. A lass another greedy business that doesn't know the value of a dealer !
