We're Scotlands first and longest established - BuySure Dealer. Basically, we've gone for it full blooded. In round figures, we're around 30-35k'ish a year with RAC. We put a min of 3month warranty on everything. Even stock thats literally just our of Manufacturers Warranty with 9k miles on. We focus on cars under 70k miles (most are under 50k) to allow us to put their 'value' product on. This basically gives the customer (and us!) an amazing level of cover and a claim limit which is the value of the car (today it was a 36.5k Boxster for example). 5 years we've been with them and thoroughly enjoy the head space it gives me where after sales are concerned (the odd one still rears its head), as well as the additional sales I feel it gives, especially with distance customers. We have over the past year, really been working on selling up, and its working great. We find it easy to sell up something we believe is a good product, and I think customers pick up on that. With that in mind, so far this year, we've turned this from a cost, to a profit generator. You need to be strict with yourself though and 'not just be thankful for the sale'! Ask the customer, present the product and overcome objections! Taking the RAC up on their products, just for iffy cars, isn't going to work. They aren't stupid and will spot a suspect 'burn rate' a mile off. Work with them, embrace their products and prep standards and it really does work. Stevie

this Welcome and good luck. 3 Parts to this job. 1.Buying, 2. knowing how to prep, 3. dealing with the public and more importantly, understanding what goes on in their heads. No matter how much or little you know about cars, its useless without number 3. The nicest people in world can turn into complicated, neurotic arseholes as soon as they put on their 'car buying hat' and become 'a customer'. Learning how to control and understand customers is a huge part of the job.

Don't do it, unless you go all out with a unit and 10 cars put your money and energy elsewhere. You'll be lucky to scrape a meager wage working from home and you'll have to work 20 hours a day and deal with all of the mind numbing shit that comes with the Job such as our wonderful members of society visiting your actual house which is your safe place with no intention of actually buying the car they've been messaging about on Facebook at 11pm for 3 days! Sorry to be "that" guy but It's a real eye opener this job is, I thought ah it'll be piss easy, 1k profit on each car I'll be dancing to the bank LOL, as if! It's a fookin nightmare trying to make 2k in your pocket each and every single month, cars are hard to source and without a network of contacts you're fooked, prep is hard unless you have a trusted crew which takes a while to build, my advise is unless you have good real world knowledge of the industry (not a Google specialist) and how it works dont put yourself through the hassle. Everyone including me thought/thinks it's an easy way to riches, Its not and it'll drive you barmy trying to get there. #ilovemyjob #getmeouttahere

Yes but on the flip side, half of my customers commute the other way also, so it works both ways I guess! Anyway, we are happy with our diesels and smaller petrol engine cars such as 1.4 Tfsi a1’s
