Amazing how BCA and Manhiem seem to have got away with this over the years, yet we all know what happens when AT do the same thing. We could all do something about it, but nah, we all just bend over a little further.

It’s just not worth buying low value cars at BCA anymore.

F***ing no chance. Too fancy for me, flash car with warning lights on the dashboard, I’d have sleepless nights. My mechanic can take a week to change a drop link, I’ve 5 (f***ing 5!!!) in a queue waiting for his attention & from what I hear the local BMW ‘specialists’ are overpriced c***ts.

A few more solid enquiries and a couple of appointments in the book. Signs of things changing.

It’s interesting that you mention Volvos as they make a good example. Anyone who’s been dealing 10years+ will know what I mean by a ‘Volvo man’ - only wants a Volvo, not too fussy, realistic expectations for their budget & if the car was described correctly he bought. No f***ing about, the deal was done before he rolled up. Nowadays ‘Volvo man’ has all but disappeared. Since Volvos are more mainstream they now attract as much penniless scum as many other brands and rather like the newer Volvo cars themselves, the punters are cheap & nasty.

It depends on the value of the car ,etc in my opinion. Do it on a 15k car, dont do it on a 5k car. What i would suggest is this- Learn to do it yourself. Its tricky to master but if you have the time to learn and to do the work, then its not that difficult to refurb wheels etc. On this particular example i would touch in the bumper.
