Tends to work quite well for me. You do get the odd customer who still leaps out of the test driving having said they are ready to buy today and said they love the car best they have seen who suddenly still has more to look at but that's just the nature of the job. Same token when someone is wanting to test drive the car and we have already laid a deal out . We ask directly if the car drives as your expect (which is where we know, or hope, it will) are you ready to leave a deposit/ do a deal today. I actually dont mind helping people who are just browsing if they state their intentions and explain they are just narrowing down what car they want. If it's quiet I don't mind getting them behind the wheel as that lack of pressure sometimes makes them return especially after they get pounced on in the main dealer environment.

There's enough veiled bullying on the internet already. This forum isn't going to tolerate it.

I've spoken to the guys at ATA and we've had a chat about how to use this forum. As I've said many times before, blatant promotion is not allowed. Outbound links, contact details and sales pitches are not allowed here. If companies want to promote their services to dealers that's what Car Dealer Magazine, CarDealerMag.co.uk and the paid for options for advertising are for on this forum. Remember, Car Dealer Magazine is sent FREE to dealers and that's only thanks to the support from advertisers who make that happen. I've left this thread in place as I am happy for the ATA guys to involve themselves here, however blatant self promotion by any company - other than dealers - is not allowed. I've updated you all here for reasons of transparency.

I've been closely monitoring this thread. This site is for friendly advice - and I mean friendly. As I've said in the edit above - play nicely, or play somewhere else. Just putting it out there...

Thanks for business Mat C and the mention... we hope the booklets are working well. They actually cost £6 per booklet OR less if you buy more... do not worry, you did not pay £8, I checked and have also sent you a small thank you in the post

I just had a look at your reviews and I wouldn't worry. All the other five star reviews are so clearly genuine and his doesn't come across as a real review, plus his is filtered to the bottom for me (might be different for other viewers though). From a customer perspective I tend to disbelieve bad reviews that don't give detail. If someone has had a genuinely bad experience they'll vent exactly what happened!
