JDM1983 28 Posted August 6, 2019 What do you guys use to refix a rear view mirror? I’ve tried mirror pads, but it just fell off again. It’s one of the newer mirrors with rains sensors etc so it’s fairly heavy.
Blenheim Car Sales 111 Posted August 6, 2019 clean both surfaces with some sort of rubbing alcohol, It cleans and evaporates then try, This should work, Failing that Gorilla glue dont do as i have done in the past put so much pressure on the mirror to the glass that you end up cracking the glass with the force you are using to stick it, The air was blue that day
JDM1983 28 Posted August 6, 2019 Thanks for that. This kit I bought had alcohol wipes, I scraped off the old glue and used the wipes before applying. The Gorilla glue is a good shout. Thanks for the tip tip about the screen breaking lol, sure it wasn’t funny at the time

For mot if failed on so many points we sold him an escort estate at the time sadly the owner or mot tester are no longer with us happy times back then the owner was a car painter and had alcohol issues .actually the escort came back and was sold again to a painter and decorator when the original owner lost his licence for drink driving .
