According to the law you can and may charge a usage charge,we have it on our invoices right at the top say If Applicable "THE USAGE CHARGE OR CAR HIRE WOULD BE  £........

PER DAY.                   SIGNED........................... The have to have a good reason to reject not because they don't fancy it any more or want to drive for free.It works saved us a few times.Best of luck
