If you tax at post office then you have to register it at the same time and they keep the v5. If you don't want to mess around going to the post office then any number inserted in front the doc ref number will work on line. I have done it plenty of times. Providing the car is in trade then I would presume yes. Just remove the 1st number from the ref on the green slip. Not come across this senario before... yes go to post office fill in new keeper details new keeper normally gets log book in 2 weeks be sure to check all details are correct on receipt even if road tax free give customer receipt and tell them to keep it with car until tax shows on dvla website or they might get pulled for no tax (happened to one of my customers late last year on the m25 of all places)it can take 5 days Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
