andymc1973 199 Posted August 11, 2018 Hi all, just took one of these in part ex and its got me stumped, the ride can best be described as "bouncy*? the suspension goes up and down without issue (on the buttons) or error and the sports suspension activates, when putting weight on the boot the car seems to bounce and when braking the same happens, the car was obviously traded into me as its an issue.Has anyone any ideas? The car's 2008 Exclusive, really nice thing other than the motion sickness, it has the Hydractive 3 fitted All help welcome
Nick M.K. 574 Posted August 11, 2018 Without being an expert it sounds like it needs new rear spheres along with a hydraulic fluid change. Not a big deal.
BHM 994 Posted August 11, 2018 Andy, in technical terms it sounds very much like the suspension spheres are f***ed. However I dunno what Hydractive is, but if that involves electricity & sensors then that can’t be a good thing. Hopefully the price has come down & Nick is correct that it’s cheap - it used to be expensive I seem to recall.
trade vet 704 Posted August 11, 2018 Nice C5,I don’t think I have heard that expression before......When we had to value them as swappers,we always apologised in advance of giving a price......Andy,you cannot be wanting to retail it,it must stand you nowt. NOACROSS 414 Posted August 11, 2018 1 hour ago, Nick M.K. said: French Diesel doesn't worry me. French Automatic does :-) Would rather that over a German diesel or a German auto, any day of the week. Lovely miles. Good sellers and drive well/comfy old buses (as an estate anyway). Sold loads of them. Gearboxes have been no drama especially at those miles. Shame it’s a saloon though. That’ll slow it down.

andymc1973 199 Posted August 18, 2018 got the car into a local specialist and it's fine, seems they are all like that, the suspension was originally on the C6 and some C5's, anyway sold it today, tick tock tick tock
