Arfur Dealy 823 Posted August 2, 2017 Andy, put a new roof on it, its a great selling point and will add value.
andymc1973 199 Posted August 3, 2017 Yes but it's already mounting up and ideally I was hoping for a cheap solution
justina3 518 Posted August 3, 2017 Any patch would show up like a rotten pint of milk, I would cut back on anything else and make the roof like new, People who buy convertibles its normally the first thing they look for, or in your add you could highlight the fact it a wee bit more money as it has a brand new roof defo a selling bonus. All joking aside, I'd glue on (tidily) some roof material from top seam to the bottom seam between the two roof struts & duplicate on the other side so it looks uniform & thus correct to a casual punter OR perhaps get some Toyota/MR2 logos sewn over them. Far from ideal but it's the cheapest way as I assume it's just a cheap old knacker getting tarted up for sale.

metcars 397 Posted August 5, 2017 Being of a 'certain age' I remember when MGB/TR/Spitfires were in their first flush of youth and not 'restored to pieces'. In those days most open sports cars had hood 'issues' as standard, and the hood's would leak a bit as standard. All part of the charm having a pen stuck in it while parked in a car park.
