Kido replied to barriecrampton's topic in General Dealer Chat
Interesting to hear that wenickanycar now belongs to BCR as they have being buying cat Ds of me for the last few months 7 in total to date and emails and calls asking for any more . Have just done a deal for three more and one is a cat C we have came to a price just vehicle inspection and if you know the guys it's amazing what a bit of lunch can do ! -
I sell only on line and make sure that any auction ends on a Thursday as Thursday I always get the most hits to the site .

Do think that sales guys that do wear the tie should have maching balaclavas The tie wearing is a good interceptor for the punter to know if he's going to get to get f----ed over. Daddy run he comes the man with a tie on ! ! -

No tie ! Open shirt showing the gold bliing chain would be more suiting to today's sales team in the showrooms . Most punters don't see a car sales person as a professional white collar worker more of a transit job or have a go guy . So wearing a tie most times has the appearance of mutton dressed as lamb ! -
Your a 100% right there hiding the fact that a car is recorded is a low life thing to do and there is no real reason to do so cause the recorded class is the sales pitch. But then again guys that are kerbside traders don't feel that they have been embraced by the industry so would not do any thing to enhance it why would they when main dealers rip them up for any services they request Eg ; parts , tools hire or car data .

Well greengiant , I called the lights where on but no answer .

Andy hope you don't think I am on your case but I just giving the flip side of the coin Know your opposition ! This guy is a one man band trying to eat the dealers lunch . Don't see the need for a forecourt cause that would cramp his style of the honest joe dealer . He couldn't come of with his if you went to a dealer line . Don't need the over heads of the back up , car is priced to be sold as seen and the punter see the saving . As for warranty that's the bargaining point If you give me another £200 I will give you 1 year warranty . Bang hello warranty company and buys a years cover . Not much difference between him than the forecourt dealer only the low over heads and more personal contact with the punter. Most time he is mr ebayer " Ok if you corm and see the car make me an offer I will stop the auction ." If the dealers do such a good service why do they worry so much about mr homer , mr road side trader and mr cat D . Cause mr dealer is not offering the punter value no more . The punter knows that cars today last longer and are more reliable even with what would have been said over the clock is now just 100 k miles . They know that you no longer fix a engine you replace it and you don't need the dealer to tell you that and charge you double to do it . So what does the dealer offer the punter to pay in lowest case 20% more for ? With the internet car selling sites and mr homers web site that is his forecourt , that is his shop front. I would think with iPhone ,iPad and whatsapp and cars having longer transferable warranties he will do well in the years to come .

Do you think that if we could educate the general public over here, it would only work for all of us? Andy , me be the general public are educate over here , Most punters here see the value in a damaged repaired insurance wright off .the only thing they don't understand is dealers don't . But when that is fully explained to them they fully do . Just briefly ; "dealers don't have the know how are management skills to repair these cars so rubbish them and devalue them as dealers like to buy a clean car from a repression auction and mark up 2 grand on it, fixing a perfectly good car would sound like to much work to them and their not in the business of giving the public the chance to drive a young low mileage car that they other would not afford . And if could afford would have to pay 30% more of the dealer " . Where you are also getting mixed up cars in the states are not made wright off to to small damage value of here . cause the dealers are not as greedy and have trained staff in the US of A . And as for HPI I have bought many a well damaged car that not been recorded .

Andy , What is the TS clamping down on , people fixing cars ? Lol What if a cat D or C was to be classed as a cat B not to be returned to the road . Insurance premiums would double as the insurance company's recope half their losses selling Ds & Cs . What would that do for the car industry ? Think the real problem lies more with the main dealers not just charging excessive labour rates and mark up on parts and not having the trained staff to fix the likes of parking sensors and air bag replacement . So a car with light frontal damage that has parking sensors that the main dealers can't fix and give a warranty now has to be classed as a cat D . Main dealer also takes forever to fix the simplest problem cause the insurance company is paying for a hired car that the dealer is again charging three time regular rental rates . So the guy with the know how to replace air bags sensors is the target of TS . Don't think the TS will never stop the insurance company's selling Ds & Cs to be returned to the road or ever stop some one fixing a car Did you know that soon a lot more cars that have damage as classed as a cat d today will be unrecorded . In fact this is already the case . Q And who passed this ? A TS Insurance company's are banks , banks are big and get what they want think they have proved that to the tune of 85 billion of our money . So don't think TS will stop them being part of cat Ds or cat Cs returning back on the road it would cost them money and bankers like money . And beside that , I doubt many main dealers could tell what a cat D or C is before or after fixed . Could he tell why it is a cat D not a C . You cant tell 60% of cat Ds after being fixed not unless you go in to the bar codes of the new parts to tell that they are newer than the car .the other 40% may have had panel damage and bad paint job would be the tell tail . There has never been a case where there has been a criminal injury case caused by a cat D or cat C car sold to any one . So what do that tell you , it is all down to money . If your in the market for a cat D that my forte.

Mr greengiant wrote "Translation of all or any of the above would be appreciated please." If you need Translaition of all or any that I have wrote you are not turned in Kido and should ask your self how long ago was it the 90s . Most dealers answer of the coff is 10 years ago . What has changed in the last 20 years in the dealers showroom ? Does dealers showroom have a place in today market ?
