  1. Reviews are a pain in the ass but they are a sad fact of running a business, yes people do read reviews and decide what your business is like before even speaking to you, you must reply to the review and turn it around in your favour, explain that it has cost you xyz removing car from sale, preparing it to his standards loss of turnover etc etc state that deposits are none refundable and a contract such as the one he signed is legally binding.....worded correctly it can make him look like a skint chancer wannabe rather than an innocent hard done to saint...

  2. I believe there are only a certain number of times you can do this before DVLA get wise to your bank details keep stopping DD then they block all DD,s from that account, sounds Bollox to me cus they getting paid but that’s a govt body for u....

  3. I thought maybe a private, can I revise my original advise? Only way to clear light has to be done at 3am, sit in car with rear doors open, remove all your clothes as the static from them may upset the process,, start car and hold accelerator to floor for a full 10 minutes while pressing horn at the same time as reciting the Koran...... sorted the EML is no longer your biggest problem

I taxed a stock vehicle for a week with monthly debits in July. I notified the DVLA using their online service to tell them I'd then sold the car (July 31st). Seems they didn't get this because they debited me the next month (Aug). I thought, well, their literature says it can take 6-8 weeks to process a V5 so I left it. Got charged again the next month (Sept), so I wrote to them and found out they knew nothing of me ever having the vehicle (mid Oct). So they told me to fill in a V62 to put me down as an owner so I could get a refund of the tax debits. Got billed again in Nov even though they know I no longer had the car. They wrote back saying "there is no legal provision to backdate a refund payment.... The issue of refunds of vehicle tax is governed by the Vehicle Excise and Registration Act 1994 and the Road Vehciles Regulations 2002. Section 19 of the Act provides for the specific calculation equal to one-twelfth of the annual rate of duty, which is unexpired when refund condition is satisfied. The refund condition is satisfied when the notification is received by the DVLA."

So how can they say, wait for 8 weeks for us to process your V5... while we take out your monthly payments... and then refuse to refund you!

I think I can get round their incompetence by using the direct debit guarantee and claiming it back that way.

why didn't you just cancel the DD ??

  7. I remember years ago when Autotrader rep came in with latest price increases, I asked her how they justify it and her arrogant reply was "because we can" six months later the same arrogant woman came in as my new finance rep after Autotrader had cut her wages and she had to leave, I told her I didn't want to deal with her, she asked why not,, I said "BECAUSE I CAN" you have to be careful who you piss off when your at the top of the tree because your gonna meet them on the way down ;-))

Just posted this in the IMDA , Officially price increase on 1st April , Letters /emails in the post, not got mine but I asked yesterday.

Approx cost rise is £4.50/5.00 per car -per month ! Nice ..

Seriously £4.50/£5 per car INCREASE!!!!  That increase with 50 car stock is £250 that is all that most  of the other portals actually charge for advertising ..... but I guess that if they can get away with it why not... I can’t understand why their share price is at it lowest level with income increases like this, so glad I don’t feed the greedy monster anymore ;-)))

  9. I had one ring on Friday to say he coming to look at a Fiesta "in an hour",,,,,, he didn't show...... no hardship I sold it Saturday, same man rang again yesterday, I didn't tell him it was sold and he said he would come to look at it "in an hour" surprisingly he actually turned up and was pissed off when I told him I had just sold it,, he said "you knew I was on my way to buy it", I said just like you were on your way Friday and didnt show ;-)))

  10. Get it all time, usual one is whats your best price,, after half hour negotiating price punter buggers off to think about it, following day you get another punter of similar ethnicity who's offer is always below one you negotiated with separate punter day before..... u do think are they related....

  11. I am on E-Bay motors pro, think its about  £230+VAT  for 50 cars, I get results and not just pondlife, I used to think it was just for cheap stuff but this month I have done a £23k XKR and a £26k Range rover, but I wouldn't want to pay anymore to list on gum tree, they have rung me many times over the years and I have declined so I hope its not something e-bay are going to push on us.
