    Cheers Andy, a couple in the bag today made me feel a whole lot better. On today's second deal I learnt that some buyers are frightened to death of used car sellers, he seemed convinced I was trying to fleece him, but some re-assuring words and a cuppa calmed him down. I even delivered it for him!

    I see your point, but manufacturing is usually one of the first to pick up, and here in The Midlands it definitely has, since July/August order books are going loads better.

    There is no way on this planet that Vauxhall's current range is on a par with that of Ford. This is the strongest ever Ford line up, there's work for all manufacturers to catch up.

    I'll be sure to Jim! I'm only a couple of years behind you but life started all over again for me this summer after a very, very close brush with the grim reaper. I never thought I'd be starting a new career at my age, never mind selling motors, but I love it and find it very natural. See you at the awards next year!

    I don't think I would, James. I can see exactly your point but there would be so many other motors out there not showing faults that you're likely to lose out. I'd like to add video to our website, not sure I'm the right man for it though, and we certainly can't afford pro's.

    From our point of view a contraction in the economy would be most feared. After that the DPF will affect trade, likely in a negative way but let's see.

    I'll make sure we enter bud. Maybe you could have e-awards for the smaller bracket too? Can I suggest a couple or three new awards? Newcomer of the year (that's me ) < 50 cars and one for >50 Personal Achievement of the year (both categories) Event of the year (be it charity or whatever) (both categories) The 'Extra Mile' award (both categories) And perhaps some awards voted by used car dealers, e.g. best used car, most reliable, and so on.

    I'm/we're on there. I dedicate a fair bit of my time to it, it's building slowly but surely. I try to do a mix of local news, weather, Blogs, RT trade artcies etc.
