  1. CBA fo sho! I sent an enquiry for a week's holiday in a hotel in Newquay a fortnight ago. Not a word back, not even the courtesy of "leave it with us". So I emailed my original mail to them on Friday and finally got a reply today "sorry we've been busy". Yes, and I'm sorry but I won't be booking. Talking of holibobs - anyone here got any contacts?
  2. No my boss is much, much MUCH more world weary than Big Mike. Might be his older brother. Yes, I can edit it and fart about to my heart's content, it's very user friendly.
  3. Died a fortnight ago for us. Absolutely dead.
  4. You've gotta larf! You have, haven't you? My mate went to Moscow last year. His luggage went to Amsterdam.
  5. When their expert is prone underneath our cars I say "are you alright? Have you collapsed - shall I call an ambulance?" or "do you want to borrow my tools?"! We sold a very very cheap Puma a few months ago, the girl's chap was a "mechanic" and crawled all over and under it, bartered for a better deal. Sold as seen (I'm talking less than five hundred nicker here) and explained as so. Two months later it failed the MOT and they came crying for money. Not such a clever mechanic after all, eh?
  6. Seems like a recipe for disaster for me, at least in the short term. What about those of us who as stated drive home in motors that have rent and a ticket?
  7. Looks good, well done. Hope it comes off for you guys.
  8. We've rejected two cars this week from our paint man. Now gone elsewhere but paying more. You get what you pay for I guess.
  9. We've registered for a free trial with findyoucars.com - here's hoping...
  10. Or endorsement depending on how you look at it. We've just had a website - www.bournevalemotors.co.uk - 'done' for us by the rather excellent Adrian at CarDealer5. Highly recommended and a nice guy to deal with. After the debacle of our previous website bods, it's been a breath of fresh air.
  11. Congratulations to all involved, great stuff.
  12. I don't do our buying, but it strikes me as expensive and often not as described. We went miles away to fetch a Passat from Sussex - got there and the clutch was buggered. Not a mention in the description. Gone deader than a dead parrot in the boneyard at midnight.
  13. Brilliant rant! The cheaper the car, the more they want.
  14. I personally think there's a few Joe Public buying via DA.
  15. Wonder what their part exchange prices are like?
  16. We use a localy guy for repairs, and never use a smart repairer.
  17. A good start here too. Dealer-Auction is populated by dealers/agents that are convinced their stock is worth good money when lots of it should be bottom book.
  18. A-ha! Time we were nominated Influential Tweeters with our 54 followers so soon! Only half joking.
  19. Agreed - nothing goes in the 'sold' book until I've waved it bye-bye off the pitch.
  20. BOOM's all over the shop here bud!
  21. In another life I used a PR expert - and he certainly got results, but he was very very expensive. At our level though, not a chance.
  22. Great start for the month for me thus far.
