I have finally registered with Manheim after they agreed to match my account status with BCA and waive the £70 sign up fee.

Being a loyal BCAer for the past year, I am completely proficient with their online systems and catalogues but am finding Manheim's site more difficult to navigate.  Is it just me, or is it that I have got comfortable with BCA?

The information within Manheim is more thorough IMO but I can't seem to filter by budget.  I.e. look for a 1 Series Beemer (repeat customer request) and it brings up everything from £1k to £30k).  Yes, I can limit the age range but that isn't the be all - i.e. a low mileage older car can be worth more than a newer high miler.

On the whole though, which do you prefer?

Manheim closed our account as didn't purchase anything for a couple of years as fees were ridiculous and on top of that they add silver sure check to everything and that's an extra & £35. Bca are too expensive and was thinking of joining back with manheim but just haven't got around to do it. What card you on at bca to waver the £70 fee at manheim?

Do you still buy the high tax band cars? I have a couple of band L cars £520 a year soon to go up to £540. Band M are at present £535 going up to £555 a year. I tend to steer clear of these but had two beauties I couldn’t refuse both 1 owner fmdsh and low mileage autos fully loaded.

I think my problem will be these are in the bargain basement price range £3995 so only going to attract billies on a budget. I think I might be buying these two a Christmas card.

Think you are right here at £3995 is going to attract billies on a budget. If they where £9990 people buying that price bracket not bothered about how much tax and running costs will be

Trouble is, there’s so many using French engines (I don’t mind French and much prefer to German junk):

    Jaguar

    Mini

BMW etc all use Peugeot engines for example.

We just stock vw audi occasionally bmw got to look nice but saying that bought a Renault twingo renault sport 2010 60000 miles fsh just because it looked well and got it out at below price and was sold within 24 hours but wouldn't buy any french diesels. We had a mazda 3 in 1.6 diesel and the amount of problems it had only to find out it had a pug engine, never have we bought anything again with Peugeot diesel engines in. I suppose you live and you learn stick to what you know is my opinion

  4. Hi all, had a customer this morning been in uk for just over a year now originally from Spain working as a vet, asks me how much do you think insurance will be as he is paying £2500 on his 02 fiesta i said dont know depending on how many points you have accidents etc etc he goes i have 15 points no accidents i was like no wonder you are paying so much insurance, i dont think this audi a4 s line will be any cheaper but hes addiment he has 15 points and he doesn't understand why his insurance is so expensive, after a while i realised what he meant as the law must be different in Spain and they give you 15 points and as and when you get points they deduct them accordingly. Moral of the story the chaps been telling his insurance company he has 15 points:lol: told him to go get some quotes and ammendment the points as you have non not 15:lol::lol: made my day
