The only time I do my 10000 daily steps target is when I'm at Auction...!! Like has been said already, I'll often come away with something I hadn't planned on buying.

Thanks Sparky, that's really helpful information. Appreciated

Our insurer said taxed cars and trade plates only on MID.... Stock cars not on MID, (anytime a stock car is on the road it's got a trade plate attached).

This was a diesel with 80k, it went so quick I bought another....now Ive got two.. In fairness to the auto electrician he did try.. he sent me loads of diagnostic photo's, rang me a few times with updates on his progress, eventually telling me it was stuck in gear, wouldn't start or move. The thing is 10 minutes after taking the key out, locking it and letting it power down, everything is ok and driveable.. Anyhow it's back here now, 1hour and 40 mins of trouble free until tomorrow !!!

The 3008 semi auto that we sold last week is now, as I write, on the M1 heading back from Harlow to the East Midlands...!! The really nice people that bought it have been experiencing intermittent difficulty in getting the damn thing to select gears.. Auto electrician that we sent out couldn't work out what was wrong, so we arranged to unwind the Zuto deal, pick it up and bring it back. Once it's selected a gear it drives sweet,..Peugwoe I'm calling it..

We use https://www.motortradersassistant.co.uk/ VAT is a doddle, profit and loss, stock book, invoices in and out, end of year send a file to the accountant and they do their bit. It's definitely helped us through the years although you do still have to make sure that you're accurate in to get accurate out.

I think I'm going back to putting a list in the Post Office window and Co Op "for sale" board...!! -
Definitely a greyish area. I'd agree, nearly all probably keep a V5 new keeper notification for at least 30 days.. I didn't want to be a total doomer.. just letting you know what could happen..experience counts but also you shouldn't over think these things.. Make getting your trade plates a priority.. Good luck with the new business..

Nick, I hate being a pedantic tw*t,. I hope you're ok with my correction .. the DVLA requirement for notification of new keeper detail after taxing, whether online or paper document, is "forthwith" not "within a reasonable time". The DVLA will, after a time ( only they know how long) of not being in possession of new keeper details, not take a pay monthly D/D rendering said vehicle untaxed, and at risk of clamping and fine.If you tax a car using D/D and not provide new keeper details keep an eye on your bank account to see it's been taken. You can tell I didn't check enough and got caught out right ?? We have van's round our way with camera's checking for untaxed vehicles on roads or public access car parks, like pubs and hotels. Marc you did say you'd taxed the car using the green slip already, so therefore DVLA will be expecting keeper details....the dilemma now is... can you sell it quick enough, or have you got to register yourself as a new keeper.....? From our experience, the same as Nick and Arfur, you can tax more than once on the green slip.. Just doing this did make me wonder ...do DVLA ever look at forums like these...? ...

I guess it's too much to hope that you're fixed and on your way.. They can be trouble if the battery is weak, or brake light switch if you're lucky. Do you hear the pump prime when you open the door? Test by getting out, locking it, wait a few minutes, unlock, open the drivers door and listen for the pump priming. If it's not the battery or brake switch, it would be specialist for me.. Sorry I can't help more.. I feel your pain..! Good luck
