  1. I had a jag XF premium luxury priced at £8k and got offered £3500 the other day on eBay. I declined the offer and then got offered £3600. Lol my answer to everything is, come down and view the car and we can talk about price then they never show up. Funny that.
  2. Hi is anyone here purely internet based? We trade from a warehouse and We use purely Autotrader and eBay classifieds and was wondering if anyone else is trading like this? Its been very very slow the last two weeks and only had a few calls on the 16 cars. We got a fantastic deal on our warehouse but moving to somewhere that is on a main road In the heart of essex is a huge difference in overheads so out of the question at present. it seems that even though our stock is in excellent condition and has FSH etc people don’t seem to look beyond price point online. We only stock Audi, merc, bmw and mini.
  3. The seems to be turning, bought a couple of nice cars at Chelmsford today. Expected nothing but rubbish but a few diamonds In the rough today.
  4. Is there a massive difference in price of cars up north, say Yorkshire, compared to prices at London / essex auctions? just looking at more avenues for getting stock in. Im noticing that cars up north on eBay are about 10% cheaper on average compared to down here. is anyone buying stock online, getting the train up and driving back down?
  5. New car sales are clearly down, and used cars are up, lack stock and creating a temporary bubble. It will pop and return back to normal in March no doubt.
  6. I suggest you start looking at all avenues. Bought a nice 10 plate mini diesel on raw2k Monday. 61k on the clock diesel for £3k! Amazing. Oil change, valet and MOT and safety check and off you got for £5500
  7. Chelmsford and Colchester. i picked up a lovely mini hatch park lane limited edition 2006 - 1.6 petrol manual today. Only 71k miles off of Facebook for £2k... what a steal. Drives fantastic, Would of gone for £2600+ plus fees at the auction... and you couldn’t test drive it either! No profit left in the chassis Auctions are not the place to be buying at present.
  8. Im scouring the internet for cars. Auctions can kiss my shiny arse
  9. Good luck with this, I bought a bmw 5 series at the Chelmsford auction with shed loss of issues, drove it straight down to Colchester and ran it through there and made a profit haha
  10. sounds to me like a wiring loom issue, or the ecu is fried, to have so many different errors....
  11. So far this week I managed to buy a mini clubman diesel 2007 86k on eBay for a steal of £2600 and sold yesterday for £3500 (which evidently was way to cheap as the phone didn’t stop ringing for it) after a quick mot and PDI - and bought a 57 Audi TT 2.0 TFSI with 89k for £5100 which is absolutely mint - and sold also yesterday for £6495. these cars would of gone for absolute silly money at the auction houses...
  12. Am I missing the point? Everything is going through auction at absolutely rediculous prices - people are buying vehicles for £500-£750 more than what you can go and pick it up on eBay for! Anything audi below £4K is literally going for stupid money, how are any of these clowns making any money? also reserve prices seem to be going up through the roof from SMC - thurlow nunn and beadles etc. Ive decided to knock the auctions on the head for a month or so. It’s becoming a waste of petrol even driving down there.
  13. Well I get the keys to my plot tomorrow and branding is done. Exciting times, close brother reps coming to see me next week. Wish me luck ignore The price and year on the advertising, just a mock up
  14. What do you guys sell on average per month percentage wise? If you had 20 cars do you aim for 10 cars per month? 50%?
  15. I bought trade insurance and they asked for nothing as I’m new lol. Result
  16. Just offer £100 more than we buy any car and you’re laughing
  17. Thank you for your answer. I have re adjusted what I want to be selling and being in the heart of essex... Brentwood / Billericay this will sell no problem. I was just curious on people's price projections. This is a premium c250 and is the one to have. im aiming to have 2 cars like this in the unit and 4-5 audis / Bmw around the 5-7k mark.
  18. There's not that many of these about on autotrade. I'm going to bid up to 19k on this one I Think
  19. Just curious what everyone would be prepared to pay for this and sell it for? pay £20k advertise for £23k?
  20. I can't see that, maybe in the car industry, but not across the board. Plumbers and electricians etc would suffer tremendously - also the general public would be paying 20% more for there house to be worked on.
  21. I worked at Dagenham motors for 4 years and toomey motors for 2 years. ive run and owned multiple companies in that time but never Moved back into the motor trade. Its only the odd question I'm firing out here and there and I'll be on my way. Thanks for all your kind answers
  22. Yes I've been in the trade before. But along time ago. 14 years ago in fact. I will easily exceed £80k in turnover. I just didn't know if it was in fact £80k in profit before I needed to register.
  23. So after I sell £80k of cars. Rediculous lol
  24. When do I have to register for the vat margins scheme. Is it after I sell £80k of cars in a 12 month period or is it after I make £80k profit in a 12 month period?
