  1. Simon,

Any chance you could let me know the exact layout and wording of all the documents you ensure the customer signs with you as it appears to be watertight when someone buys a car from you. My customers are a pain and maybe i need to tweak exactly what it is i give them and make them sign at point of sale.

    Good post though fair play!

Personally I wouldn't be having it back unless its got something seriously wrong with it, its 12 years old FFS. As others have said, get the thing in a workshop and see whats wrong with it before offering a refund.

I'm fed up of these messers that expect a new car for used car money. The likelihood is that the price he's paid is around 10% of what the equivalent new model would cost. What's his expectations of a 12 year old car for God's sake.

  3. Some mot stations are being made to upgrade their equipment at a considerable cost, new legislation coming in about any dashboard warning lights, i don't know all the details but have heard our tester (owner) speaking about it on a number of occasions over the last few weeks. Definitely going to be a lot tougher.

  4. These people never cease to amaze me, I'm totally fed up of the mentality of these messers, had people yesterday left a deposit over the phone only to turn up and try to get 400 quid off. Moaned about 1 or 2 stone chips on an 8 year old car with 70k on the clock. I'd love to know where these people go next and if they actually end up buying a car.

Feel like saying, "I'm sorry sir but we don't sell new used vehicles"

Exactly this will be fine. We pay for them after all.

I see a guy whilst I am driving to work 6 days a week in an old 56 plate black focus on trade plates. He has been using it for 12months + now and seems fine

Damn you've spotted me......... Hope the rozzers haven't cottoned on!

  6. I've had this car in stock for a while, came to start it today after taking a deposit on it and it's got an intermittent message on the display saying "restricted performance" however this doesn't seem to affect the running of it and it pulls just as it should. Before I go code reading and live data it etc I was hoping that someone knowledgeable on here would be able to offer any advice if they've experienced this.

  7. I've got a customer who rang me up saying that there's a noise when he moves his steering wheel........ Sounds like it's the clock spring (squib), no mechanic failure, functions just as it should although makes a slight noise which can't be heard on driving, just slow manoeuvring, parking etc. I mean would you get a new one fitted along with a couple of hours labour etc. It's ridiculous, car is 8 years old for God's sake.

    good luck with it

Care to elaborate? Think I'll get anywhere?

B2B is covered by the Sales of Goods act not the CRA. The vehicle still has to be "as described", if the have put a written description to the car which is misleading or incorrect then they have stitched you up, it is their responsibility to advise it was faulty. If there is not written condition or description then take it on the chin.

I thought this was the case and yes it did have a description with no mention of the fault.

  11. Cut a long story short, I've purchased a vehicle from a dealer and used a independent driver to collect it. Turns up and only a few hours after it getting dropped off did I actually go out and move it. On start up there's a heavy vibration running right though the car...... Turns out clutch and flywheel need replacing, no mention of the fault in the vendors description and even after me contacting them to say there's a problem they are basically giving me a eff off tablet. Do I have any rights at all despite this being B2B? Anyone had this type of scenario before?
