We have used them several times, very good indeed. If it a sales car and time is not a problem, its easy enough to change just the sensor, however until you have it stripped you wont know which sensor it has fitted. You will need to get the numbers off it.
-
It uses the steering angle sensor to cancel the indicators. Have you tried to re learn the steering angle sensor using diagnostic equipment? Is the steering wheel straight when driving? I think the steering angle sensor may be inside the column unit/motor. That will explain the heavy feeling.

The water causes the problem, it usually shorts out said broken wire.
-
100% (fingers crossed) broke wire behind battery. The wiring is very tight as it goes up the side of the battery and for some reason it usually takes out once of the communication wires from ecu to instrument cluster. It covers a wide variety of faults on these cars because it depends which wire it takes out.

And dont forget, he will probably also be complaining to VW and the petrol station that he buys his fuel from and also the local council for having un-fuel-efficient road surfaces..... The list goes on.
-
Say it how it is BHM Hes probably perfectly happy with the car, however they do like a good whinge north of the border... don't take it to heart.
-
Seriously dont waste your money... we have seen this fault several times and never fixed it with a cluster.... I might have a used one lying around you could try. Does the car start and cut out?
-
That because EBAY aren't supposed to let sellers sell fake/counterfeit goods.... You have to look elsewhere
-
Get that wiring harness checked, and post a photo of the broken wire.
-
Is everything else communicating on the car? For that trouble code, its very common for chaffed wiring around the back of the battery, Your will need to remove the battery and tray and look really closely, you might even need to cut open the loom tape to see the break.
-
Aye ideal...
-
No Communication codes, and which ones.
-
Hi Andy Can you get it on Vag Com? ... are you wearing suspenders?
-
No do not send clocks away, I know this fault inside out. Who has the car? Has it been code read Andy?

Another negative review, whats your take on this

Legal solutions 4 u offer a service where they get it removed, from memory it’s about £40. -
I think quite a lot of people are missing the point, Autotrader are providing the SAME service to everybody in terms of advertising cars. Therefore irrespective of who a customer is (independent or franchised dealer) should be paying the same price for the same product. Autotrader are the best - but they are also bullies, and its all their way or the highway.
-
Right... I have just rang and spoken to a Autotrader representative that has been very well trained (Brainwashed) in the art of defending Autotraders. It seems as though we pay £2617.65 for 35+5 cars we get a loyalty discount of £175 for being a long standing customer - full rate should be £2792.65p. However it seems as though if we were franchised we would pay £1956.95p! These are all plus vat. The smarmy bastard has just reminded me about the price increase in April. It is simply not "fair", it needs to be a level playing field, i can understand if you are a supermarket advertising hundreds of cars.
-
Hi Arthur My apologies, then this is outrageous, im going to give the Autotrader some shit right now. "ill be back"
-
Is it just me ..... £1600 + Vat is £1920 your bill states £2933.40p plus vat is £3520.08p. No wonder your struggling to return a profit, your math is poor.
-
I predict a riot.....
-
We pay more than that!
-
Who is doing the chain on it for you Andy? We do walnut shell blasting if required
-
He is virtually unbeatable on Vauxhall stuff, he even repairs Focus Instrument clusters at half the price of BBA and the others......
-
I would advise not to plug it into a diagnostic machine and replace everything.
-
oil and filter, blast the sump off and check the strainer is clear.... then bang it in the auction.
