  1. I bought a C63 from Bedford. Reports couldn't have been any better. Got there to pick it up, started it up, into gear and the bloody thing wouldn't move. Went back to the desk and some random guy in a high vis went to look at it. Told me the callipers have seized and they'll be refunding me. I asked them to repair it and deliver it to me when it's ready as I really wanted the car. Apparently Bedfords policy is that they don't repair anything, they just refund and ship it off to another site. Week later the car appeared at BB and went for a grand more than what I paid.
  2. I always look at the BIN's but they're always done like that because they haven't sold in the hall. Makes me wonder why not and puts me off.
  3. It was in the morning of the sale. I knew I wasn't going to be around to bid so did the proxy bid. Realised it was the wrong car so cancelled it straight away.
  4. Sadly it is very much the sort of car we would buy. Price, engine, age etc but I wouldn't buy one purely because I know I won't be able to shift it quickly and certainly not if I was to retail it at something I could make a profit on.
  5. Surely it is illegal?? Whilst I agree you don't have to bid any higher I've seen a lot of cars go through where a car hasn't met the reserve and all of the sudden there are loads of hall bids just as someone online puts a bid in.
  6. Good point. I just checked and it's now a buy it now at £20500. Doesn't seem very BCA of them to try and make sure I don't lose any money. I'm just going to leave it alone and see what they say before I do anything. They told me they automatically sell the car again if it gets to £200 of my bid and anything less they will call me and ask what I want to do. Haven't heard from them so we will see. Hopefully they realise the mistake and leave me alone.
  7. No the bloody thing went for more. (No idea how much as I wasn't watching). I never normally do proxy bids but had a customer on it so knew I would sell it straight away so happy to pay that. I'd never buy an XFR. All you have to do is look at how long they have been for sale on AT and it's clear they aren't sought after cars.
  8. Yeh i'm in dispute with them over this car. I accidentally put in a proxy bid for it last week (was supposed to be the next lot) and promptly removed it. (It showed as removed). When I got back to office, I checked a few other cars and saw I had won the Jag for £20,500!!! (magically that was my proxy bid for it) These cars never go anywhere near cap clean so apart from the fact that I had removed the bid and never actually wanted the car, today has proven to me that last weeks auction was bull shit. They want to charge me £150 restocking fee and pay whatever the difference is between my 'bid' and whatever the car went for in the next auction. Proper pissed off with BCA. Oh and they also told me that they charge for all of this because they have to pay the vendor. There is no way in hell BCA pay the vendors before they get the money from the buyer. If they try and enforce this I will seek legal advice regarding running up auctions. I watched one the other day, the hall was silent yet it quickly went up £700 and kept telling everyone online that they took the hall bid first.
  9. Great. If anyone is available and can watch it for me (I still won't be back in time) i'll owe them a beer!
  10. There's a car going through auction and i'm not able to view it online right now. Is anyone currently watching auctions that could do me a favour (if it hasn't already gone through) It's Harwoods lot 065 at enfield. Jag XFR. Just want to know what the hammer price is. Would really appreciate it.
  11. I binned CAP off last year. It never really worked for most of the stuff we buy so now I just use Ford Connect for the run of the mill stock.
  12. Car went today. Full funds in my account before the driver left. Haven't heard from anyone and know the new customer got the car around midday today. Seemed dodgy but turned out to be decent enough.
  13. Not exactly a catchy name is it.
  14. Audi S4 Cap clean is £22550 Went for £25800+ costs ( I was going to retail it at £27k) Range Rover Cap clean is £18k ( Retail is £20k) Went for £18200. How can anyone make any money at these prices!!
  15. Does it have to go into your name or does it come with the previous owner still showing as the keeper?
  16. I always see cars going through auction with no V5. It's always put me off (unless they say plate transfer etc) as I just assume it would be a nightmare and take weeks to get it. What's the process for a dealer to apply for one?
  17. Nope. Just a run of the mill normal dealership. Yes, I looked at their accounts too. (The dennis bit made me look into them). I have entered no contract, all i've done is send them an invoice for the amount owed. No way would I sign something. It's all very weird so i'll see how it progresses but the slightest issue and i'll be cancelling it.
  18. They put the car into their own stock if it's rejected. I've got that bit in writing. I will be getting a statement from them declaring it is a trade sale and that the car cannot come back to me. Not worth doing it if this can happen. Just going to see how it goes but I think it may be a dead end. Oh and the carefully vetted bit is a joke. He rang me up, asked if the car was available and how much could I sell it to them for. That was literally it. How is that making sure my company is decent and the car is good?
  19. Has anyone dealt with them? They rang me last week about a car i've got saying they just lost out on one and this is exactly what the customer wanted. I agree a trade price with them and they sent over a £199 deposit (for a £43k car) and the customer is sorting out finance etc. It's been 7 days and haven't heard from them. They want me to refurb 4 wheels and get it serviced at the main dealer before they pick it up which is £650 which i'm not going to do until i've got more money from them as they could just cancel the sale and i'll be out of pocket (next customer may be fine with the small marks on the wheels and it's not due a service for 3 months so don't want to get it done until it needs it). I don't know why but something just seems off with them... We agree a trade sale then they send me an invoice but with loads of T&C's describing what damage they allow etc and it must come with a minimum 3 month warranty. I spoke to the guy and said it's either a trade sale or it isn't. He replied and said yes it's a trade sale and don't worry about the warranty. Anyone dealt with them then??
  20. I cancelled mine after 3/4 months. They emailed me saying they'd reduce it to £99/month (from £179) if I stayed but it's not even worth that.
  21. I really hate it when adverts say 'not modified in any way...... except....' Really pisses me off. Same as 'Amazing condition inside and out..... except...'.
  22. Dual sequential gearbox, direct shift gearbox. Depends who you ask really. The latter is the correct name but most say it's the former.
  23. So where do you guys advertise? What sort of price range cars do you sell? I'd love to get rid but AT seems the only place we actually sell from.
