  4. I use Autosales, can't really fault it, although I have no idea how that would work with the new legislation. I know it syncs to sage, although don't really fancy using sage. Hopefully, they roll something out to make it compatible.

  6. Each to their own, I just don't why anyone would not offer it. I have sold 3 cars this month, 1 bank transfer, 2 Finance deals. The first finance sale gave me £75 commission, but more importantly, enabled me to sell the car. Yesterday I got close to £2000 commission and enabled me to sell the car. like I said, each to their own however having the ability to offer finance is one of the most fundemental tools to have to help me sell cars.
  7. you can't get prime finance on a 13 year old car. If I take a 13 year old car in px and someone wants to get strapped up to it, who am I to deny them. EPV, every car is a potential boomerang, its all part of the job. You need to win more than you lose. I have no more fear selling a 13 year old, diesel X5 than I do selling a 5 year disco. Actually, scrap that, I'm more fearful selling the 5 year old Land Rover/.

  9. First Response. Fairly Mainstream, albeit subprime. It could bounce back for any reason, you are correct, however, that really doesn't have to do with the car being sold on Finance.

  12. I mean.... It takes fucking 10 minutes to do a finance application. We get paid a premium for selling cars over a private seller. This is one of the reasons. I genuinely struggle with so many questions people post on here. What's next.... charging £50 for customers viewing cars? Are you seriously a car dealer Jay?

  16. I would imagine that this gearbox is classed as a sealed unit by the manufacturer. I may be mistaken, but I doubt there are any recommendations for changing the clutch/actuator as part of maintaining the vehicle. Very similar to many other semi automatic cars. If you sold a dsg golf, and the clutch pack/mechatronic unit packed up after a few months would you tell that customer to jog on? You may rethink that when You have an irate customer banging on your door or taking you to court.
  17. I think mine has 21k on the clock, I think the actuator was at fault and had put excessive wear on the clutch.
  18. Most items are wear and tear. I would imagine Most customers do not understand the automatic car they bought is a manual box with an actuator strapped on the side of it. Even if it was a manual gearbox, unless the customer has done absolutely mega miles in it, there's no way that a car they have spent good money on should become undrivable within 2 months. The problem would have been present at the time of purchase in most probability and it is doubtful any dealer could prove otherwise. If it was a manual car then maybe, just maybe you could blame the customer for burning out the clutch, but without a clutch pedal, I think its impossible to blame the customer. I don't think this is a mr.clutch job either. This gearbox is shite, I would never buy one again, however you cant fuck the customer off with "wear and tear mate, jog on fella" as the clutch is not operated by the customer, but the car. The car has done 57,000 miles and to expect the customer to shell out well over a grand 2 months down the line because the gearbox won't engage is bullshit.
  19. Well, the actuator would be a cheaper and easier fix than the clutch. I had to replace the clutch on a Peugeot 3008, after messing around with actuators/fluid. If it's the clutch then I'd imagine it's also a dmf and slave replacement as Well........ Unless your first name is arfur..... It was an expensive fix If I remember.
  20. But it's not a cockup, is it? it's a failed brand release bearing! If they want a refund, give it to them, if not carry on with the repair/sale.
  21. If the radio/nav stop working, most probably it will be the CCC. I think the AC is also controlled through the CCC, but id have to double check (I've got a CCC out of the car at the moment awaiting to be sent off). If you have CCC failure many things will stop working, although that won't be the gearbox issue. Could be a temp sensor tho. The fan could be running as the car has detected the gearbox is running hot (or it thinks it is due to a faulty sensor) or the car reverts to running the fan when it detects an issue.
  22. Radio/nav/air con sounds like CCC issue. A friend of mine just had gearbox issue that sounds the same, drove the car for 4 hours then got transmission fault. He ended up changing the box. The CCC is a really simple repair, there's a thread on here, the transmission could be sensor/oil or something worse. Good luck and keep us posted.
