Beautiful South Martin 24 Posted April 12, 2016 My Motor Trade policy is due for renewal at the beginning of May, Ive been with them for 4 years+ and always take their renewal quote as it comes, no claims made, but Ive decided this year to shop around. Ive had a couple of flyers come through the post from Lexham Insurance and Direct Motor Trade Insurance so thought I would get a quote off them to get the ball rolling. Just wondering if anyone had a broker out there they could recommend. Thanks

It's me 615 Posted April 12, 2016 try LV been with them second year now,you have to go via a broker but whats offered is good and the price is excellent i went with an unknown a few years ago via a broker and to this day i think i wasn't insured thinking back oh and if going into the unknown watch simple stuff like paying extra for your own car and not having social domestic etc because one insurer does this until you get into the small print sometimes keeping where you are isnt too bad
Steve92 80 Posted April 12, 2016 Our broker (Unicom) are terrible in getting back to you. I put everything in an email so I have a paper trail. They requested copies of licences which I've sent and they still haven't confirmed they have them, so I'll have to call and resend again. does everyone use a trade insurer to cover everything or do you take out various policies for test drives and moving, then to cover stock and buildings etc.
James Bush 95 Posted April 12, 2016 I've always used onesureinsurance.co.uk but never accepted there 1st quote or renewal. I've always got them to work a bit and it's saved my £100's. Decent company to work with, no sales patter, just ask them to get you the best quote and they do I have 3 seperate polices with them, road risk including private use for 4 drivers, accompanied demos and cover while at home address. Stock cover (away cover I think they call it) at my showroom and my public liability insurance for my showroom.

Steve92 80 Posted April 13, 2016 With regards to stock cover can you buy top up cover ? So if you had 100k of stock but then wanted to increase it to take into account a sale or return car valued at 100k are there companies out there that would specialise in it ? Phil H 124 Posted April 14, 2016 for each extra 25k of cover I pay about an extra £250 a year and can adjust it either way with no penalties or just for a short time
