Blenheim Car Sales 111 Posted September 7, 2019 Wondered if anyone had experience on this unit the RT6, My car shows maps. It pics up satellites but will not accept a new destination, It comes up with "please insert manufacturers CD" I obviously do not have this CD and thought it was just simply a case of getting this CD and updating the database, When you try and give it a destination, It will accept an Address but the machine just permanently hangs at "installing database" and no destination is ever loaded, Can anyone tell me if the CD isput into the head unit or if i am looking for another module in the boot ?? for example Peugeot main agent Parts manager says its broken needs sending off after just a chat and giving him the chassis number and asking me what happens when i try and work it, Something just does not feel right, For my own sanity i would just like to offer it a CD like it is asking and see if it wakes it up, Sure i can get one of Ebay, Does anyone have any experience with this RT6 unit who can offer some insight, Or who has a Company that you have used for this specialist type of Electronic repair preferably in the Midlands area who i could chat to and get an opinion
Mark101 536 Posted September 7, 2019 @EPV had something similar from memory. I think he had it fixed. Then it got stolen?
EPV 631 Posted September 7, 2019 Mine wasn’t quite similar really, I never got to the Nav stage, it was just a constant “updating” message on the screen. In the end, mine was an issue with the module, someone had buggered it up by using a cheap CD update from eBay! So take it to a proper firm. The module itself is about £600 from memory or they send it off to France. Not cheap either way.
Blenheim Car Sales 111 Posted September 7, 2019 mine has the "updating" message too maps show but nothing else really works, just asks for CD
