Can anyone recommend a decent workshop in Penzance area

Recommended Posts

Guys

Can anyone help with this? I have a bit of a drama on the go with an L200 I sold a month ago to a guy down in Penzance. It has had a head gasket let go and I am trying to find someone in the area who can take care of it for me. As we are in Kent the guy is understandably reluctant to get it back to us and I don't want to force the issue if I can help it. Just looking for somebody decent who won't have my pants down.

Thanks

HTH,

agree might cost £400 in transport but you are in charge

no way would i let an unknown garage without a personal recommendation look under the bonnet of something like a l200

It’s a long way back dave’s...

i kind of agree. Do you have a regular garage you can trust to do it?

If not, has the customer? There will be a good garage local to him that just needs finding.

Call his local Mitsubishi parts dept and see if they can recommend a local “specialist”?

That good garage scheme is not really to be relied upon Arfur. Our local “good garages” bring all of their headaches our way or pie them off elsewhere.

It looks like he's well known in town as a pain in the arse and a couple of workshops have said they don't want to get involved. I'm going to get it back and sort it but it's a right ball ache. It's under a Mitsubishi approved warranty but they are wriggling out as it's had a non Mitsubishi service, Typical

Kick back a bit harder.

as long as serviced in line with their guideline non issue.

Unlikely to have led to this either way.

Its a 2015 with 39,000 miles! I did look up the small print online and it does state this quite clearly, Mitsubishi dealer servicing only but I will have a go. We do a lot of these and it's a fairly common problem, they are probably the most troublesome of all the pick ups but good sellers.

Hi,

Yeah, I remember when Mitsi's were good vehicles, probably only bettered by Toyotas back then, but nowadays they are just shit like most !!

Don't waste your valuable time with Mitsubishi and their "Warranty" ..................

Local fleet owner bought a brand new Shogun bells and whistles for his wifes Xmas pressie 2 years ago ...................

Wriggled and squirmed at every corner for warranty issues, claimed a service wasn't done, they "forgot" to stamp his book for first service !!

Wouldn't budge ..................... The guy is a serious player, a multi millionaire who doesn't fuck around and even he gave up with them in the end ............... Legal Eagles now nipping at Mitsi UK, the Car is now sat outside his buildings all green and un loved taking root !!

She's driving brand new Rangey !!

Something deep in my memory is telling me that the law changed regarding this enforcement of warranty.

I am sure if servicing is carried out to manufacturer's guidelines (possibly using OEM parts), the warranty should be honoured.

I might also be talking shit though.

Correct.

In October 2003, European Union legislation affecting the motor trade came into force, designed to open up the motor trade to free market conditions and to stop restrictive practice. (Its full title is "Block Exemption Regulations 1400/2002"

Its along way to go with a brown envelope, he's in Penzance, I'm in Kent!

The warranty is not with Mitsubishi UK, it's administered for them by a warranty company
