Tony911 79 Posted January 20, 2019 Hi all, got a 2010 vw golf with a hugh spec on it which includes sat nat rns model, was working perfectly fine until this morning had somebody view it and the unit is just displaying the welcome to vw logo then switches off. Tried manually resetting it from a YouTube video but no luck, anybody else had this issue?

Not bad £175 ph Gets right up my arse that sort of statement So you expect a guy with this knowledge and all the necessary equipment, software etc to not earn a decent living ?? No point him doing it then really !! No way does he earn £175 an hour !! See what I spend a year on Software, Leads, Computer parts, Subscriptions, Downloads, Tools, Lighting, Heating, Rates, Consumables etc etc and then tell me I earn £65.00 per hour !! How much would VAG have charged to fix it by the time they had fitted a new Navi Unit Get used to it, this is now the Industry to be in, even a humble repair to Hand / Parking Brakes now requires specialist equipment and knowledge You should see how many expensive fuck ups I've had in here due to inept grease monkeys trying to lever Calipers back etc etc etc. One such twat actually removed two of his fingers last year doing a pad change, office girl; came out to get mileage off the Car, opened the door while he had his fingers in the Rear Calipers, Car wakes up, realises the H/B is not set, so it applies the Handrake instantly .............. BAM mashed fingers !!

KevinJ 0 Posted January 14, 2020 I had a similar problem with the SatNav in my VW Golf Mk7. Everything worked fine then - nothing. Everything else worked OK (radio, bluetooth etc.) bu the SatNav screen was completely blank. I tried the soft boot (hold the on/off button for 10 seconds - but that didn't work. Then I disconnected the battery - left it off for ~ 15 minutes, then reconnected and hey prestor - all OK. Some of the other functions lit up for a short while (auto brake, and other enginer-management lights) but they soon cleared. All OK now, and zero cost. Result.
