Just taken in a berlingo WAV

nice spec mileage and condition just no idea of the market or what to do with it, for now stuck it on dealer auction see what happens.

anyone have experience with these ?

Hope you have more luck than us.As WAV dealers tend to make massive profits, I thought I would try one.Two months ago we nicked  a mint 17k Doblo and priced it attractively........Never opened the door !

We do OK with them, but you need a choice of a few for the punters. 

 It also helps to be in ‘old peopleville’ like us. Petrol auto best. Diesel very hard work unless an older one.

They are a slow seller though on the whole.

Any cheaper WAVs are slow but steady sellers. They generally carry a premium over non-WAV but not massively so, years ago they made huge money (although only valued at the same as the car they’re based on) but those days are gone as so many more are now in the marketplace.

Forget ex-Taxi mega mileage fodder, genuine family cars only.

Although I don’t know the price point I guess too new/low miles & too expensive - although I’ve never owned a Doblo in any form. 

I’ve found the punters buying WAVs secondhand are GENERALLY doing so because they can’t get motability or the car is a short-term prospect until the death of a relative hence they’re cash punters with a limited budget. Basically I’ve done ok in the £3-4000 bracket, they’ve always sat for a month or two, but I’d be wary of retailing more expensive vehicles because the specialists have the market covered or the punters will be on motability.

Ours is a nice 64 1.4 silver ,17k, fsh ,cost us £5850,it is a Gleneagles conversion ( if that means anything) I thought it was cheap at £7950 compared to proper WAV dealers.

BHM is right- it’s too new and the wrong price point really. Does it have AC? Needs it  

Up to six grand is the magic number.

Having said that, you’ll probably sell it now. ;o)

Gowrings are the better conversions.
