Mark101 536 Posted December 7, 2018 Citroen DS3 finally sold yesterday. After driving for a while (I smoked it for a week whilst waiting for Disco to be offically re-imported). Says something along the lines of "risk of particulate filter blocking" and service light. I think these PSA engines have an additive tank underneath as well as the DPF itself but despite a thorough look on Google, there is nothing decisive and even (apparently) main dealers, Citroen struggle with a fix (one suggesting, new tank, new fluid, new DPF and possibly a new ECU). Now obviously this is bollocks. I have had this car since May, so to say I am happy that it has finally gone is an understatement but just looking for some pointers please. My reader does not read DS3 for a forced regen (does every other Citroen model and I tried C3 usuing same engine but will not communicate). Customer wants the car ASAP (don't they always) - I have said give me until Tuesday, TIA
Stalker 180 Posted December 7, 2018 Not much help, but it will need to go to somebody with a Lexia/Peugeot planet. We have a C4 Cactus that is giving us the run around at the moment, the ECU is made by Bosch and our Bosch KTS gives us undocumented codes! It could be anything, with the right equipment you can see how full the DPFand the Additive tank is and work out from there what the problem might be. A quick google in your area, Leycroft Autocare claim to be a french specialist?

Del Boy 76 Posted December 7, 2018 I’ve had this twice recently. One was additive low, and other was dpf end of life. I just reset both of them on the machine and light went off.

Just a lack of information and a lot of amateur information online, one even saying it's simple you just change the air filter.

If you ever felt chipper one day and wanted to know how much doom there is impending on owning a used car, you just need to pop on there and 3 minutes later you're looking for a dark room to open a vein

It's almost as though they revel in bad news. You probably get a ban if you post anything positive
Dave2302 387 Posted December 9, 2018 Hmmmm, when did it last have an Air Filter ? .................... That may not be as stupid as one would think I haven't had a problem with a Citroen / Pug, but MB's will not regen if they have "Airflow Offset Drift" code, and one of the (many) causes of that code is ........................ Yep, Air Filter !! Agree with the others, Peugeot / 'troon Lexia will nail it without parts darts
