Mark101 536 Posted May 11, 2018 Have any of you guys succesfully refurbished or had refurbished a steering wheel surround? Leather type is easy, I'm talking about the cheapie vinyl type peeling off. One of mine looks mint except for a worn gear shift (easy swap out) and a worn, peeling steering wheel. Obviously, I don't want to put a naff cover on it but is there something you can apply, spray on, wrap etc that will smarten things up. Someone with builders hands must have owned it at some point. MattR 177 Posted May 11, 2018 I dont know of a cheap repair on the non leather sort, would be interested to find out if there is one! On the occasion where its been so bad, I've bought a wheel off ebay.

SC Derby 259 Posted May 11, 2018 My interior guy can do them, I think it involves spraying in some fashion. He did a great job on a Qashqai for me. So maybe try a local interior repair guy?

SC Derby 259 Posted May 11, 2018 Think they all go on Qashqai's tbh, 6-10 years old.

Only remaining issue (besides steering wheel) is the keyless entry/start. Key guy has managed to cut second key and program for remote CL but cannot get the "intelligent" key to talk to the car - just does not recognise the key(s) - any suggestions? BHM 994 Posted May 11, 2018 eBay. Berlingoes/Partners disintegrate for fun & very good replacements are usually £20-25 - it’s easier changing a steering wheel than twatting about trying to tightly sew a leather snake with a needle & thread.
